Picture tubes are alive and well and all over! For a start, try Google "paint shop pro picture tubes" and look under "images". You'll see hundreds of links to sites with tubes. Click and explore.
Good luck!

Someone may have written a batch file for this, but I've had to export each as a tube, whether it's a png file or a pspimage format. The good thing about this is that it allows for resizing the image if you wish before exporting.hades8840 wrote:. . . most files are downloading as png files and psp isnt seeing them as tubes do i need to export each image as there in singles not on a sheet or is there a easier way..sorry for the noob questions gonna take some time to catch up
An alternative is to save the image you download to an easily accessible folder. Then, instead of using the image as a tube, you can open it from within PSP, copy it, and save it as a new layer to the project you're working on. BTW, the Corel site offers lots of good tutorials on lots of PSP features, and the Help file from the program itself has excellent information.

One more thing I found extremely helpful (I'd also used PSP for years and years but skipped from version XII to PSP 2018): Check out the post above "Free! Beginner's Workshop for PaintShop Pro". Although the date on the post is old, the free workshop is current. I took it early this year, and I really recommend it!

Re: havent used psp for 10-15 years
I found if i change the extention to psptube they open but thats odd as the batch process that changes it to pspimage has psptube as part of the files it should cover

Okay, good work finding the batch file! To make a tube, however you still need to open each pspimage file (one at a time as a new image) in PSP. Then you can export the file as a picture tube. Remember my alternative above, though. Keep the individual pspimage files in a convenient folder outside of PSP. Start your project, then, when you get to the point that you want to use one of the "not really a tube" images, just open that image, copy it, go back to your project image, and paste as a new layer.hades8840 wrote:i found batch process under file which lets you change the files to pspimage but they still dont show up in the picture tube selection ..i bet it something simple i am missing as file type is now pspimage so for the life of me cant work out what i am doing wrong
Hope that's clear to you, but ask more if it's still confusing!

Re: havent used psp for 10-15 years
There is often a confusion in using the word "Tubes".
For many "tubers" it is basically an extracted image from its background. It can be a png file or it can be a .pspimage file, but it does not HAVE to be a PSP file as those extracted images could be used in any graphic program if saved in png. Either format they are in, they are used by opening the file in your workspace and copying and pasting them on your project.
Picture tubes have a .psptube extension (or .tub for the very old versions) and are part of the Picture tubes tools of PSP. They are EXCLUSIVE to PSP and cannot be used in other programs. They cannot be used by simply opening them on your workspace. You cannot just change the extension of a .pspimage file to a .psptube file and expect them to work as they have to be single/multi cell images on a single layer, with additional settings like the Selection mode, step and placement mode. A typical .pspimage file does not have those settings so changing the extension to .psptube will not work.
Here is an article on what Picture tubes are in PSP:
