Without wanting to start a substantive discussion in what is meant to be a simple listing thread, I personally can't see much difference at all between the tools and process in PSP and those in Word, for formatting text or parts of text. So I am not sure what "hard work" you are referring to.

Here's the PSP Text "ribbon":

And the Word Text ribbon:

Something more complicated than just having one or two words in a different style. With a high resolution formatting text tends to get VERY slow. Now think of something like this:

Ok, even Word is not the best tool at hand for this, but it would make things easier...

Hi Everyone,

I have been asking for some of these features since 2013 and it seems like some of the developers tried to address them but the implementation was not as flexible as other image manipulation software. Others have yet to be addressed. So without further adieu here is my wish list

1. The ability to convert a selection to a path. I know there are methods to take an image convert it to black and white and then apply the bitmap to vector tool but what I am talking about here is the ability to use the selection tool which has the find edge ability and convert this selection to a vector path allowing for more targeted and selective conversion of objects in an image. Photoshop has this ability and it is useful if one wants to take a picture and use it as a vector back drop for other vector drawings. I saw a web comic artist us this to quickly create frames for his comic.
2. A few revisions back they finally did improve the gradient tool allowing for editing the angle of the gradient on the drawing but this is still far from the capabilities of photoshop or even gimp for that matter. The gradient application and pallet really needs to be revamped. The most annoying thing is having to set the angle of the gradient and then no matter how you move the brush or click and release the paint bucket the gradient will come out the same with the same angle and repeat as specified in the gradient swatch. Its like my strokes on the screen had no meaning. The angle most definitely and probably the repeat settings need to be removed from the gradient swatch dialogue as the angle and repeat should be set by the angle the paint bucket is dragged and the repeat by length the paint bucket is dragged. Also with the paint brush the angle should follow each stroke of the brush and change as direction of the stroke changes. Finally in place of the angle and repeat should be replaced with a type of gradient having the options of linear, radial, quadrilateral and outline (follow the outline of the shape). The starting point of the click and drag would be the center of the linear, radial, outline or quadrilateral gradient. A radial gradient would radiate out from the center and similarly for the quad shape but the transition shape would be square instead of circular from the center point.
3. Another feature is the ability to implement a vector mask. I do see the ability to load preset raster masks into a layer but I'm looking for something more dynamic. In photoshop one can draw whatever vector shape or shapes (free hand, spline, etc) on a layer fill it in where and how desired and then drag and drop it on another layer to create a mask from the shape(s). The other thing I have seen done with this is instead of just masking out one layer to reveal the layer underneath it can be used to selectively apply filters and effects. I saw a tutorial of someone taking a soda can into photoshop and then creating an inverted trapezoid with a gradient fill from top to bottom. They then applied a blur filter through the mask which made the can look like it was vibrating more at the top than the bottom like a tuning fork. I haven't been able to find a way to do this in Paintshop, maybe I'm missing it but if not this would be a great feature. If one could also apply different colored gradients and have the affects only apply to the other colors than the one being filtered that would allow for some unique effects. I've noticed that sometimes the developers tend to implement suggestions by creating a tool to achieve a similar effect but this lacks the flexibility of being able to apply any effect or filter through a mask setting transparency levels of the mask to effect the degree of the effect application in selective area or even on selective filtered color ranges allowing for unique effects that specific effect tool can't achieve.
4. Finally I was thinking it might be nice to take some queues from a program like sketch up where you can draw a shape or line and then click in a part of the status bar which show the length and angle of the last object drawn and modify the length and/or angle and have what was just drawn correct itself to the new size/angle. Obviously would have to be relative to something which would probably be the start of drawing or where the drawing ended.

Thank you for considering these recommendations.

Sincerely
Devin

When using the crop tool the list of suggested crop sizes should include standard photo paper sizes such as 10x15cm and 13x18cm

PSP used to do that. Some time between x4 and x6 they changed to the current system, which tracks camera aspect proportions.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

Correct the problem regarding photos with GPS coordinates that Google Map does not know about. Normally these photos (as per the documentation) should appear in the "Places" section under "Unknown Places".

Add a tool to reassign photos location: Some times Google Maps identifies photos in "Québec" and other times in "Quebec" (the "e" with or without accent) but it's the same place

1. Snapping feature.
2. Scratch Remover brush size control with Alt key and Strengh option would be nice either.
3. Embed Path metadata in JPG.
4. Enhanced Smartphoto Fix filter
- More sharpen option , Denoise feature, Color valance adjust slider, Vibrancy.. etc.

PSP has snapping to grids and guides. What sort of snapping are you looking for?

Sorry for not being more specific. My English is poor.
I mean.. snapping to dynamic guides like affinity software. It looks like a content aware snapping without guide line.

Never mind it. I assigned grid snap shortcut key with ' in user customized menu.
I can use grid snap with shorcut key instead.

and ... I'd like to 100x thanks for your PSPScript.

Wow. I have a copy of Affinity. While you can copy a selection in PSP, paste it to a new layer and move that layer around, or you can do ctrl-c (of a selection) and ctrl-e (pastes what you copied), PSP does not have the dimensions laid out on-screen the way Affinity does. Thanks for drawing that to our attention. Great video.

In the Crop tool, one may select 16:9 to Square, and free form. I would like to have the same options with the Selection tool. Alternatively, I would like to create a selection from current crop.

I guess, it has been more than 2 years when Affinity Photo was born. but, it's still too buggy.
I'll use snap to grid with an assigned shortcut key in user customize menu. thanks. 8)

I would really love it if all the presets drop lists would be alphabetical. If you add a new folder that say starts with a C it's still found at the bottom in the order in which it was created. Very annoying.
The ones I use most often are Brushes, Picture Tubes and Preset Shapes. But it is probably the same for Picture Frames as well.
