Menu Templates Don't Save Everything?

Post by windygamer »

Using VSx10
in case you need to know I'm editing Fraps captures to make DVDs / BluRay.

Works great. But I need to edit the Disk / Chapter menus for every disk so I've been trying to find the Save To Favorites.
Finally found it in Edit > Customize, but it only lights up if you change something. So I toggle Pan/Zoom on / off and it lights and I can save it.
But, it doesn't save everything.

Disks I'm making have just one video and lots of chapters. And Moving path slows down playing the videos.
And I want to minimize space on disks taken by menus.
So, Moving Path is out. Menu In / Out set to none.
Motion Menu is set to 5 seconds not 20, and no sound.
I use the blue 2 thumb main menu and the 9 thumb chapter menu with these same settings.
Saved a template of the chapter menu and the 5 sec motion menu time was tossed and 20 was restored.
Huh? Are not all the settings saved?
Has this changed in later versions of VS?
Any more settings that I don't see not being saved?
Thanks.

Hi

From Customise the pop up panel Customise Menu shows several options that can be changed, there is no option to set the Motion Menu or the Duration.
Moving Path is associated with Motion Menu and cannot be deselected, but does retain the In – Out selection, hmmm
Most other options appear to be available, so I suppose an oversight.
I do not think this has been raised before.

Your menu structure is of course saved to the project after closing the burner module.
Opening that project and accessing the burner should show all your settings in tact

Only on a new project will you have to reset the timings.
