How to use Perfectly Clear in PSP 2019?

Post by pledden »

I have installed both 32 & 64 bit PSP 2019 plus After Shot and Perfectly Clear but I can find no trace of Perfectly Clear after opening PSP 64bit with a graphic?

Windows 10 64bit

When you go to Effects > Plugins do you see Athentech? If you do, then click it and you should see Perfectly Clear...

I just tested it and it works fine so it's not across the board. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Perfectly Clear?

No problem here with Perfectly Clear - works in 64 bit version , does not appear as a choice in 32 bit version. There was a 32 bit version of Perfectly clear offered back with PSP X6 (which was the first time PSP came out in a 64 bit version)
On the other hand the other Pic to Painting appears in the 32 and 64 bit Effects versions but gives an error in the 32 bit and works well in 64 bit version.

The strange thing is Kathy is that there is no .EXE file for it so my Revo Uninstaller can find no trace of it and yet it is listed in Effects/Plugins. I wish I could uninstall and reinstall.

I have it as an .exe file

PSP2019_Athentech_PerfectlyClear.exe 70819 KB
and it does appear in the app list and can be uninstalled from there.

Settings > Apps and scroll down and it is under Athentech Perfectly Clear

And you'll find that in C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2019 (64-bit)\PlugIns\EN\Perfectly Clear SE v3.5

If it's a .exe file then that sounds like a standalone version, not a plugin.

I should clarify that I don't have an exe file located there -- just the expected PerfectlyClearSE 8BF file.

I had been assuming that hartpaul was referring to the Athentech_PerfectlyClear.exe file which was downloaded as part of the installation package for PSP 2019. In other words that exe file is an installation file for Perfectly Clear and in my case, all that is installed is the 8BF file.

Ok just to try and clear up the confusion.
This shows the files I downloaded from Corel when I purchased PSP 2019 and after I installed it
PSP2019files.jpg
The first folder 'PSP2019downloadedinstallation' contains:
psp2019_ult folder and psp2019_ult.zip which contained all the local set up files stored in that folder. I collected those and placed them in the first named folder.

AKD-73664734352.pdf contains the order details converted to a pdf and PSP2019Info.rtf contains the licence keys - both created by myself.

So photomirage_express.zip down to PSP2019_Ult.exe were the files downloaded from my Corel order.
The Perfectly Clear is an installation .exe file which installs all the needed files for it to run as a plug in.

This next diagram shows those Perfectly Clear 3.5 files which are a bit more than just an .8bf file
01PCinstall.jpg
Now I hope that is perfectly clear.

I was just curious. :-) I have never gone for a pre-release version, because I'd rather follow the pre-release version posts and see what's improved and what's broken - and then wait to see if Corel fixes at least the most important parts of what's broken before they launch the retail release. :-)

So far I gather that they haven't fixed what has been a very major complaint all year - i.e., they haven't fixed the crop tool or even made it an option to use the previous versions of it. If that's true, it's likely an indication that they have once again done more simply cosmetic improvements rather than stuff that users really care about and what users have asked for. Probably because doing the latter would take some actual thinking and effort put into programming.
