no "sound lines" for the audio tracks?

Post by ejskater16 »

i like to cut my videos to music, so that it kind of plays along with the beat of the music, which has forced me away from VS8 and into Windows movie maker 2.1 whenever i want to try this, because on windows maker i can see the different levels of volume easily and where the beat should land on for the video track to audio sync.

is there any way i can set the "sound line" type things (you know, they go up and down and stuff, i know that doesn't sound very smart..) to show up on video studio 8?

it seems that a program that recieves such good reviews would provide a feature as simple as this, i hope i am just missing it.

Sorry, it isn't there. May be a wish list for version 9?

ej,
There is a sound control integrated into the timeline display. Just select the lower one of the three by pressing the appropriate button on the left side of the timeline display. This display has a rubber-band that can adject the volume arbitrarily.

Yes but it doesn't show the Sine Wave for the music track which is what you want to "Cut to the Beat"

I time clips and slide changes with the beat of the music the old fashioned way - with my ear. Just set the duration for slides. Cutting video clips has to be done a bit more carefully.

I just don't see the lack of a sine wave display as a fatal flaw that prevents syncing to the beat. It certainly would not force me to start video editing with Movie Maker...
