Help please using CD & DVD Pictureshow4

Post by cfbc »

Hello and I really hope someone can help me as this error I keep getting is now doing my head in.

I bought Pictureshow4 after playing around with the trial version and now I have updated to Version 4, created my slideshow for DVD (spent days on it), but have come to burn it and keep getting an error message.

Sometimes it happens straight away and sometimes it happens after 5% or 70% when converting the picture files.

The error message is "DVDPS.exe - Application Arror" and then it goes on to say "the instruction 'oxof011464' references memory at 'oxofoc207c'. The memory could not be read. Click on ok to terminate the program"

I have tried updating the burning rom software, removing the software a re-installing on another hard drive, making a sample project and burning (a lot smaller) and also removing any fancy addition to the project, but does not help.

I have also tried burning direct to file, not disc and the error still happens.

If anyone can help then I would appreciate it. So frustrating.

I have also installed the program on a second machine, created a test slideshow using Ulead pictures (10 off) and tried to burn to the hardrive and I also keep getting an error at 50%. :(

Try reinstalling PictureShow from the Control Panel.

But before you do so, take note that when you install a software, the installer extracts temporary files needed for the installation on a temp folder. These folders are usually:
C:\Windows\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Temp

If the temp folder holds old installer files that may be corrupted or are duplicates with the same filename but are used for a different software, it could cause a problem for your new installation of the software. Before you reinstall the software, make sure to clean the Temp folders.

The Local Settings folder is a hidden folder so you have to enable Windows Explorer to see hidden files and folders. Open Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options > View and check show hidden files and folders. You can now open the Temp folder from the Documents and Settings folder and delete the files there before you make a new install.

2log... I have tried that as technical support replied and this still has not worked. I have tried it twice now.

I do thank you for your reply though.

One question. Does your main install have to be on the operating system hard drive? Or can I use a slave drive?

Reason I ask. I have installed the main software on a secondary internal drive, but I see the operating drive only has 8gb left of space....

I believe the projects get saved to the 'documents' folder on my operating drive.... Does this require more than 8gb?
