Hi All,
Could someone tell me if there is a solution to improving my quality of picture using VS9,The probem is my original tape (Raw Footage) from my camera is grainy and snowy and even after I have captured my clips to the HD are still the same,I have tried all the filters in VS9 to try and correct this or to improve the quality without any luck.Im thinking that maybe there is a filter to eliminate this problem with another editing program, but I would rather stay With VS9 My cam is a Canon MV650i and im using a P4.
COULD SOMEONE HELP,IM REALLY LOST
Thankyou
Bad quality before rendering

try capture in AVI
Why don't you try capturing in AVI first before you make quality settings to your video during capture. You can later make better settings during rendering stage. Set capturing in AVI in the highest resolution as possible as your device can. ^_^

Video containing noise -- especially that resulting from low-light conditions -- is difficult to clean up without special filters.
The best filters in UVS to minimize the impact are the Average and Blur filters. They will be able to take the occasional noise pixel and reduce its significance, but won't clean up the video completely. In order to do that, a 3-D (temporal) filter must be used, which can detect noise pixels that appear and disappear, and aren't really part of the scene.
There are numerous free filters for the (also free) VirtualDub video processing program. One such filter is DeNoise.

Just out of curiosity (I have no need and hope never to have it)
why are you advising the Average and Blur filters instead of the DeNoise filter from VS9? I would have use DeNoise but does it have drawbacks of shortcomings?
No offense or contradiction please, just plain candid inquiring mind...
