yikes ! I need help with a reinstall

Post by mangurian »

I am using PSP 2018 Ultimate 64 bit version.
I signed up for a course and as part of the prep they had me do a lot of reconfiguration. It took a while.

Now I find that some of the course requires things only available in the 32 bit version.

Apparently, the only way to install both versions is on the initial install when you select both.
I must now uninstall the 64 bit and then install both.

I am hoping to save hours, by finding the configuration file(s) I made and saving it/them.
I would then copy them over to the new install.

Can anyone tell me where the config info is saved? Will what I propose work ?

Thanks,

I don't know where the config files are, but hopefully someone will soon come along to help with that.

However, I have had to uninstall/reinstall these programs quite a bit over the years, and I am always asked, before the uninstall starts, whether I want to also uninstall my personal settings. I usually say no, and when I reinstall I find that all my personal configurations are already there in the new installation. I have to add, though, that I never make a huge amount of personal settings. So I would wait to see if someone else has a more specific suggestion for retaining your settings.

You can save your workspace to a location other than the default Corel location. Just create a folder somewhere on your computer where you will remember its location and go to File - Workspaces - Save.

LeviFiction created a script for backing up your file locations. viewtopic.php?f=104&t=63919 and I believe there is another one for backing up preferences. If I find it, I'll update th is post.

Okay, I found it. viewtopic.php?p=308506#p308506
