Where Are the Plugins?

Post by Muriel »

Good Evening!

I installed Focus Magic on my computer thinking it was a little stand alone program as it was several years and two computers ago. Instead, it installed itself as a PSP plugin. Then it informed me that I could use it eight, I think, times and then I would have to register it and pay $65.00 US (85.00 or so Canadian) to continue using it.

Where is this located and how do I get rid if it?

If it's actively inside PSP then look in your File Locations. The plugins category will either have a new/unique folder location where the plugin is located. Or it'll just have the standard locations. Either way, the plugin is in one of those folders.

Thank-you, LeviFiction, for your prompt reply! :D I thought no one would be active here at this ungodly hour!

I went into Apps and Features in Windows 10, found and deleted it, but it is still popping up in PSP. I went into Windows C/Program Files (x86), found a dedicated Filter Magic folder and deleted that. Guess what! It has not gone away! I am thinking I shall have to live with it.

Perhaps if I close and reopen the program?

Uhhh... not sure what you mean. But in PSP go to File -> Preferences -> File Locations.

Select "Plugins" on the left-hand list to see where PSP is looking for all of its plugins. If you uninstalled them while PSP was running then they might continue to appear until you either restart the program or clear the caches forcing PSP to reload all plugins.

Oh My Goodness!!

Feeling stupid here!

I went into the Windows C Program Files (x86) Corel PSP File Locations, found the Plugin folder, deleted it.. It still turns up in PSP, but when I try to open it, I am informed that it does not seem to be installed properly.. I am not surprised. I have deleted it from several places.

I shall simply have to live with it.

I shall thank you for your time and attention, bid you Good Night (11:07 PM in my computer room), pour myself a glass of wine and chill out.

Go back and re-read Levi's post.

He has given you the answer but you won't follow the instructions. Do you perhaps LIKE the popup ...
