Full Screen Mode as default
I prefer working in Full Screen Mode (Paint Shop Pro 2018), but every time I start up the program it starts in non Full Screen Mode. I have saved a workspace with my preferences while in Full Screen Mode, but this is ignored at startup. Can I make the program start up in Full Screen Mode?

You may record a script with the command (Shift+A) and launch PSP with that script.

I'm guessing that you double click it.

Re: Full Screen Mode as default
Yes, that does it.
Can you somehow activate the script as an automatic part of normal startup of the program? For me it is not practical having to find the folder with the script in order to click it - makes more clicking and takes longer time than starting up the program and then press Shift + a. (I am not using shortcuts on the desktop, prefer a clean surface).

You may create a Windows shortcut for the script (right-click on it and Create a shortcut)Preben wrote:Thank you for your reply.

Clicking on the shortcut will launch PSP and execute the script.
It is perhaps possible to modify the PSP Icon properties on Windows Desktop and add "full_screen.PspScript" after the .exe on the command line but I don't know the correct syntax (the .exe should execute the pspscript parameter).

Re: Full Screen Mode as default
The syntax is
"Directory of PSP" /Script "directory of script"
For example:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X5\Corel PaintShop Pro.exe" /Script "C:\Users\<InsertYourNameHere>\My Documents\Corel PaintShop Pro\15.0\Scripts-Restricted\<ScriptName>.PspScript"
This is known as a "scriptlet" it was designed by PSP to let you quickly execute several commands on any image that was dragged onto the icon to be opened. It would even process a full folder (only 1 level deep) of images if you dragged the folder onto it.

Re: Full Screen Mode as default
I have tried all thinkable variations of in my case:LeviFiction wrote:

but I get the message that the path (in the box Start in) is not valid.
I have tried to cut off the path piece by piece, and first when I'm down to
"C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2018 (64-bit)\"
the path is accepted.
I have then tried to add to this shortened and accepted path:
/Script "C:\Users\Preben\My Documents\Corel PaintShop Pro\2018\Scripts-Restricted\shift-a.PspScript"
but no part of /Script "C:\Users\Preben\My Documents\Corel PaintShop Pro\2018\Scripts-Restricted\shift-a.PspScript"
is accepted here.
What am I doing wrong?

Re: Full Screen Mode as default
Hi
Out of interest I created a script and saved to my desktop
Double clicking that file opens PSP which then auto runs the script.

Re: Full Screen Mode as default
As I wrote earlier I can create the script, and it works when double clicking it: the program opens and goes into Full Screen Mode. But as I also wrote: I do not use shortcuts - or anything else - on the desktop which I prefer to only consist of a nice picture. In my setup everything on the desktop is hidden/not shown.lata wrote:Out of interest I created a script and saved to my desktop

So the challenge right now is whether it's possible to add the script to the shortcut - Corel PaintShop Pro 2018 (64-bit) in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Corel PaintShop Pro 2018 - which is the shortcut that by ordinary opening of the program activates C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2018 (64-bit)\Corel PaintShop Pro.exe
When I try to do that I get, as mentioned, the message that the path is not valid.

Re: Full Screen Mode as default
However you normally launch psp, start menu, whatever, replace that shortcut, with either the script or a shortcut to the script.

Re: Full Screen Mode as default
BUT:
I just discovered that when you open PSP by right clicking on a picture > Open with... and then choose PSP, it does not open in Full Screen Mode. My wish is that the program always opens i Full Screen Mode. My imagination is that this can only be done by making the file Corel PaintShop Pro.exe in C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2018 (64-bit)\ behave this way. Can this be done?

Re: Full Screen Mode as default
Was searching for the same thing and couldn't believe PSP doesn't have an option for fullscreen by default.
Here's what I did. First record a script with all the options you want. I selected fullscreen mode and then under toolbars status bar as this seems to be off in fullscreen mode by default and not remembered.
Create a shortcut to the script by dragging it while holding Alt and copy its path in its properties. Make sure it's enclosed in quotes. You can delete the shortcut again after this.
Paste this path into the PSP shortcut after adding " /Script, ". Make sure you add the comma and space so it reads
Then open the registry editor (at your own risk) and search for values of "PSP_PATH" and add "/Script, "Script_PATH"" before "%1" so it reads
You are looking particularly under keys ending with ".Image" but if you want PSP to open in fullscreen mode for other files too then change those as well. This is what's called a scriptlet and PSP only seems to execute it once when starting the program and not on any subsequent invocations so it should stay in fullscreen even after opening other images.

Re: Full Screen Mode as default
Another problem I've discovered, Escape exits fullscreen mode. This is bad especially as I have escape configured as the middle mouse button for quick and easy access.
