I assume you are talking about adding subtitles ("sous-titres"). If you look at where the red arrow points in the attached image, that is the subtitle editor. You must have a video in the timeline first before you can open it.

Hello Ken,
thank you for your reply. I already know how to add text in several forms to the Video. What I mean with "subscript" is to place some letters lower then the rest of the text (see my example). Is this possible as plain text or do I need a graphic?

After you have clicked on the 'T' to enter the titling mode double click in the preview window and type the normal text - move it to wherever you want on screen - ensure that this text is not selected and double click again in the preview window - type your 'subscripted' text using any font you want - set it's size - and move it to the position you want
you can if you want do that numerous times - using different fonts and colours and they all will be onscreen at the same time wherever you want them to be
