Layout Settings Still not Fixed in SP3

Post by Granpaw Broon »

The Layout Settings have still not been fixed with SP3. Each time VS2018 is opened the layout always goes back to default setting even though I have it set to Option 1 in both Settings/Preferences/UI Layout and Settings/Layout Settings/Set To menus. Also in the Share section if you enlarge the small window sizes to remove the wasted space that is present it never remembers the setting and has to be reset each time. Both of these worked well in X10 and are basic elements that should have been ported over from X10 but not being fixed after 3 service packs really concerns me.

Hi

The UI layout has never saved the Share tab layout or Capture only the Edit tab is used for UI.

This is what I see………….
Starting VS will start in F7 default view,
Press F7 followed by Ctrl+1 will display the custom layout.
That view will remain as is until we close the program, at least that is an improvement.

If you choose to start in Welcome screen, then choosing Edit will open in Custom view. (or last layout used)

Thanks Trevor, no, I'm aware the the Share Tab is not saved by the UI Layout but the window size is remembered in X10.5 and not in 2018. I wonder if making your feelings known to Corel is worth it as it still has a lot of issues even after 3 SPs.

Already done from the release date, several times.

The UI layout was much worse, Corel have improved things, at least the layout remains "as is" for the current session.

Others using two monitors also had problems, i only have the one so cannot test that.
