vstudio.exe file disappeared 2018 Ultimate

My vstudio.exe file disappeared this morning. I have been using it almost every day since June 30. I updated with a service pack 2 days ago. I'm pretty sure that I ran it after the upgrade. I tried to run it today and the exe file was missing.

I re-ran the installer.exe program from the install files & it ran for 1 minute & then said the software was installed. However the exe file was still missing.

I also ran the install.exe program (not sure what the difference between the two of these are) & it ran for 1 minute & then said the software was installed. However the exe file was still missing.

I then uninstalled vs 2018 and am in the process of re-installing (with newly downloaded files).

Has this happened to anyone else?

Also, when I ordered the upgrade I ordered the backup DVD I was going to look for the exe file on the DVD but realized that Cleverbridge never shipped it. anyone else experience shipping problems?

I had a similar problem this morning after update. I've sent a request to tech support to see if they can help. Below was the request:

"I opened Videostudio Ultimate 2018 and an update was available. I choose to update. It told me to close VS and continue and I did. During install it stopped on vstudio.exe and said it couldn't install because the file exists. I tried several times but it said the same thing so I choose ignore. When the update was complete I tried to start VS2018 and it said "vstudio.exe" was missing. I tried to reinstall but it said it was already installed and stopped. Is there a repair? I hate to uninstall and lose all my settings and media libraries. Thanks."

I did a complete new install & it works now.

I think you will have to re-install the program
The vstudio.exe file should be here
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2018
When we install service packs I am sure this file is replaced, seems like something went astray.

You should report this to Corel Support.

If you save the folder 21.0, which holds your library structure.
C:\Users\Trevor\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\21.0
Just simply rename it to “21.0 old”
Re-install 2018, then replace the new 21.0 folder

As VStudio.exe is missing I think you may have to use the cleanup tool to uninstall, but first try program and Features.

I reported a couple of days ago when the SP first appeared that VS refused to work after installing it: viewtopic.php?p=358909#p358909

I didn't get a message saying vstudio.exe had disappeared, and didn't think to check if it had. I *did* get a msg saying that the path to that file could not be found or I was not authorized to use it. I removed all traces of VS from my computer and reinstalled. The reinstallation process included the new SP, and all is now working again.

After installing the update, the exe file disappeared. On my Windows 7 computer no problems. After a complete reinstall, everything works. This mehtod of updating leaves a lot to be desired.

Haven't had this problem, but I use a custom install location for both the download files and the software installation. Did note that the packages for sp2 and sp3 were in the C drive location, despite the custom location usage. After installing sp3, opening VS normally several times for project work without any issues, and the sp3 version number 21.3.0.141 correctly displayed.
