Registering Free Trial

Post by cmnslcf »

I've installed the trial version, and I've gotten to the opening page to register the trial version. The link simply doesn't work, though. I click, it spins momentarily, then... nothing. I've double-clicked, uninstalled and reinstalled, disabled all firewalls and internet security, all to no avail.

I'm just about to give up. I downloaded the trial version with the intent to purchase within a day or two, but I'm not going to invest in the full version, only to find out I can't activate or register that version, either.

I've reached out to support, and the only suggestion was to double-click the "register button" - which, of course, doesn't exist.

This may sound illogical if you don't use Internet Explorer, but for some reason Corel has a link to IE somewhere in the codes it uses for various programs. I had a similar problem to you with another Corel program, and I haven't used IE since about Windows 3!!

The solution which worked for me and other people in the same situation was to open Control Panel and go to Internet Options > Advanced. At the bottom of the Advanced tab you'll see a button to reset Internet Explorer to its default settings. Press that and OK out of Internet Options. Then try opening Mirage again.

As I say, this seems to work even if you don't use IE -- though I have no idea if it is the same problem in this new program. I haven't even tried yet to install the trial version.

Well, Ken, thanks for the info, but that didn't do it for me, either.

I'm giving up, I guess.

Any suggestions for an alternative program?

Hi

I would suggest that if you are happy with the trial version that you uninstall.
Then purchase the full version and install that.

Did you find any problems running the trial that would stop you purchasing the program?
If that is the activation procedure then i would have thought the functionality of the program to be more important.

The trial does run for 30 days, i think, how many days do you have left to decide.

I read cmnslcf's post as indicating that he never managed to open the program to test it. Got to the first part and had a blank screen which he/she couldn't get past. I can't confirm how it should operate as I haven't yet downloaded the trial. Maybe I should give it a try...

I never managed to run the trial, so I'm not aware of how happy I would be with it.

I just installed the trial, and when I opened it the registration page was already there and not blank. I OK'd it and got the acknowledgement email from Corel.

I give up.

I really thought I had clearly stated what my issue is, but, based on the replies I've received, I guess I didn't.

I'm done.

I made one suggestion which did not work, and in my other post made it clear that I could not replicate your problem. I'm not sure what more I could do. We are not Corel employees here -- just users like you who volunteer their time to try to help other users.

I cannot replicate your problem. PhotoMirage installed, registered and everything works.
The problems seems to be with your system

Hi,
Sorry to hear that you had the bad experience.
We need to confirm if your issue point is the attachment?
Do you say that you click the "Register" button but nothing happened ?
Please kindly let us know.

Thanks.

Eric -- while we might wait for him to respond (though I have the suspicion he won't) I got the firm impression that the page you show in your image is what he did NOT get. Instead, that page came up empty i.e. the box was there but there was nothing in it. It has happened to quite a few users of PSP and VS over the years. That is why I suggested he try the "Reset Internet Explorer" option as that has solved the exact same situation for users of PSP and VS, even if they have never used IE. As I said above, there seems to be some strange link between Corel coding of programs and IE, even though very few people use it these days...

Hi Cmnslcf,

My first idea is wanting to check "what IE" version installed in the system now. If the IE version is v10 or older version, please try to update it to the latest version in advance. Some of our web container technology refers to the IE framework and requires to work with the IE10 or greater version (as we mentioned in the system requirement - https://www.photomirage.io/en/learn-support/#sys-reqs)

Let us know if you have a chance to try it.
