PSP 2018 Size of Text

Post by Ken Berry »

I know that in recent months there was a thread on the size of text and icons in PSP and how this had been fixed via the User Interface menu. But it may sound strange that I simply can't find that thread despite a couple of advanced searches using differing texts.

The reason I am looking for it is that I have had to completely reinstall PSP 2018 this morning, and have used User Interface to increase the size of icons, nodes, scroll bar etc. But there is no mention there of Increase Text. I thought this had been added with the Service Pack, but I thought I had installed SP1 as part of my reinstallation, and in any case Help > Check for Updates says none are available and only SP1 is available on https://www.paintshoppro.com/en/support/updates/ . My version of PSP is 20.2.0.1.

So I am hoping some kind soul will be able to help me...

In Windows 8.1 you make that change in the Control Panel>Display. On that page at the bottom is an option to only change Text size, and it has a dropdown where you choose which element you wish to change the text size on - e.g., Menus, Title Bars, Icons, etc. Then hit Apply and it will make those changes not only in PSP but likely all programs including Windows control panel.

Thanks Joe, I knew it was possible via Windows. But I am talking here of a control that was in PSP itself -- I thought in the User Interface menu. Or was I dreaming that?

I am also not sure whether Windows 10 has hidden its text control somewhere. Control Panel no longer contains Display. And Settings, which does include Display, does not refer to text size.

There was a method in Windows 10 1607

but Microsoft dropped that as it did not work with a couple of its apps.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867
