I am not impressed with 2018 PSP at all.
I have been struggling more with this version than all the previous ones combined.
Today I needed to place text on a path. None of the tutorials I watched worked. The neerest I could get was to allign the text in the circle.
I then tried my Photoshop CS6. The first tutorial worked perfectly and I could figure out what the tutorial did not say.
I very much doubt if I will buy PSP again. I am now switching over to the competition, Seriff.com. Affinity Photo is more powerfull and gets updated quarterly. I don't have to purchase a new version every year. My non-cloud based CS6 will probably work for many years to come.

How did it not work? What tutorial did you use? Putting text on a curve is no different from X8. If you want it on the curve and not to use the ellipse as a bounding box you need to make sure the cursor is above the curve itself, not the shape, your cursor will turn into a "T" on a curved line. If you go too far into the vector shape it'll change to [T} to indicate that you'll be doing text wrapping with this shape.
I can also do the longer method of creating the ellipse and text separately and then select both in the layers palette, and use the command "Fit Text to Path" to get it to appear on the curve.

I've always struggled with text on a path but usually my error and I have to fiddle around. I find PSP 2018 to work fine take note of what LeviFiction has written.
You can switch to the competition .....I'm a fan of Serif software......try Affinity....the one reason stopped me buying it after the free trial ...there is no text on a path. They may include it with a future update apparently.

My experience is the same.jcrous wrote:I am not impressed with 2018 PSP at all.

But don't lose hope, there is PaintShop Pro 2019 around the corner (...in August or September 2018), so I hope for stability of the program most.
