How do you export 4K video?
I know there's endless videos and little guides on how to export 4K video in VideoStudio, but none of them work for me, so I'm sure it's a basic problem I'm missing, but I've looked and can't find anything to address it. The standard frame sizes for any of my encoders don't include 3840x2160 and I can't select user-defined--it's grayed out. How would I go about either adding an additional standard frame size or setting a user-defined frame size? Also, compression is locked to 20000Kbps or lower for MPEG-4 and I'd like to encode at higher quality, given 4K video.
VideoStudio X9, video is XAVC-S 60Mbps UHD/30Hz footage. VideoStudio can read it fine and can even re-encode to the exact same settings, so I can edit the video and save it, but I can't go below the heavy 60Mbps encoding of the source file because any attempt to manually edit the MPEG-4 settings runs into the 1080p frame sizes and compression rates. Same problem whether I try to change it from Share or in the project properties. Since it can re-encode it with changes, I figure I should be able to edit an ini or something somewhere to add some default 3840x2160 encodings but I can't find anything.

Re: How do you export 4K video?
Hi
From Settings Project Properties – New I was able to set properties as
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 3840 x 2160, 25 fps
Frame-based
H.264 Main Profile Video: 65000 Kbps, 16:9
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps
From Share – mpeg4 there are default templates, the last option uses -- XAVC S MP4 4K (3840 x 2160, 50p, 65Mbps)--, also there are options via “+” to create our own templates.
From F6 Preferences, make sure Show Messages is selected.
Start a new project, When we add our video to the timeline, the show messages allows us to match the project settings to our video files properties. If our videos are 4K then those properties will be used.
Limitations to 65,000kbps, so some issues using higher rates of 99999kbps
If you cannot do that then please explain in more details as to what you are trying to achieve.

DumbQuestionSource -- Can you confirm that you see something like this when you click the downward pointing arrow (indicated by the red arrow) when you go to Share and choose MPEG-4 as your output:

Yes, Videostudio is locked to 65.000 kbps as maximum ... everything I tried to get to higher rates is impossible.lata wrote:Hi

Re: How do you export 4K video?
If I can get a 15sec clip of this 100Mb/s style, I'll see how my VS handles it.
**Although personally I believe that this alleged "missing" 33% of data will certainly wont give 33% loss of apparent practical viewing quality loss.

Re: How do you export 4K video?
Hi Asik
For what it is worth CVSX9 seems to handle my sample clip much quicker than 2018
I am referring to the reaction times to import and display on the timelines.
Also the time to refresh when changing the timeline durations, fit project in timelines etc.
X9 being much faster than 2018

Sticking to 19.2 has some benefits...

** I tried few 'under the hood' ways to get 100mb/s for the mp4 and... no luck.
My tweaks got me weird results even for few known profiles, so further dig is needed.

hi asik
are you saying you cannot add a 100mb video or you cannot render to 100mb?

I don't have genuine 100mb clip so I tried to render a 50 one to 100.lata wrote:hi asik

I'll try later another trick with odd resolution.

Re: How do you export 4K video?
strange issues indeed...
I tweaked few files, rename others and rested my 19.0 folder
Then when I first run VS and loaded my 3840x2160 50K test file, trim it and went to share
this setting pop up I have know idea where 105K came from, I didn't enter that in any of my tweaks.
But it's not ez to keep it. it showed first under Mobile **I'm ending my tests here, as I do not have any need or see any practicality for such high bit rate in my work.
