I have upgraded to 2018 from x9 ultimate.
Previously, after a "cut and paste" I could "fully erase" all of the bits(generally edges) of the imported image, to finish up with an acceptable final image.
Now with 2018 I find that even with density, tolerance, opacity and hardness at 100% I get a "mottled" effect on the parts I want to erase. I suspect it is a brush issue but I can´t work it out. Advice please!

Check the eraser brush tip to be sure one such as one of the marbles brush tips is not selected. Reset it to the default.

Did all that but the problem still existed. What I did notice, was that the eraser tool was set to "eraser". I switched it to "background eraser" and it did the trick. The issue was related to brush tips as you suggested, so by ensuring everything was unchecked and set to default reduced the number of options available. I thank you for your advice.TimW wrote:Check the eraser brush tip to be sure one such as one of the marbles brush tips is not selected. Reset it to the default.
