Re: Toning with PSP
Just to add to LeviFictions post above about the Nik collection, I've just had to reinstall PSP 2018, and found that the Nik Collection is still available free in the Get More section under the Home tab in PSP.

Re: Toning with PSP
Thank you, Ken, for the information. I'm very interested to see what the program offers by way of toning. It's certainly no secret I am interested in selenium toning...lol. Thank you again.

Re: Toning with PSP
Being the curious person I am - and also interested in seeing how effective various B&W toning programs are - I thank you for the link and have downloaded and installed the software.
Just so people know, the installation process is clunky, but works. You have to read everything carefully, you get redirected - by receiving confirming emails - to the site several times to create your own password and finally get an email with the final codes to complete the installation. AND the registration code you receive is ALSO the Serial number you are asked for when the program launches - after installation - and asks for a serial number.
So it takes a bit of patience and willingness to jump through a few hoops. But given that it's free for today and - after a quick look - seems like it's really worthwhile for those interested in B&W toning, not a big price to pay. Just BE SURE to save ALL of the email/registration/password info that you have received and/or created (I saved it all as a text file in the Downloads folder where I downloaded the program), otherwise you likely will not be able to get it working again for free if you change computers, have to reinstall, etc.!! As well, it doesn't try to install any unwelcome software from what I've seen.
And last. It's a standalone program (64 bit from the looks of it), not a plugin. And while I haven't had time to do it yet, I suspect that anyone familiar with JSJ's script for opening standalone filters as plugins in PSP shouldn't have any problems making it work as a plugin with their PSP versions, whether 32bit or 64 bit.

Re: Toning with PSP
Thank you, Joe, for the heads-up on the installation of that software. JSJ's script is new to me so I will need to look it up. For the moment I am using 2018 until the new iteration comes out next month and I will buy lt. Thank you again.

Re: Toning with PSP
Also note that the free installation is time dependent. You cannot install the program free after the countdown time reaches 0 . So even if you have the codes when you try and install it probably checks to see if the code is still valid and it becomes invalid after the timer ends
I downloaded and installed and copied the download and ID and registration codes to the read me instruction file, placed on a USB stick and then copied that over to two other computer/ laptops and installed there. That way I had the codes and did not have to set up an account again to get the codes emailed to me again.
You have 3 hours and 20 minutes to go.

Re: Toning with PSP
In that case hartpaul I won't get it in time as my son will need to install it for me and he is busy at the moment. As I mentioned, my computer skills are rudimentary at best so I will have to pass on this opportunity. It was very kind of you to mention it though, thank you for your thoughtfulness.

Re: Toning with PSP
FYI for those who downloaded the Black & White Projects program that @hartpaul posted about, and further to my post on the program:
I have now confirmed (not surprising really) that, while it's a standalone program and not a plugin, the JSJ Nik script can be modified to open Black & White Projects as a plugin within PSP and will return the result as a layer on the image you are working on in PSP. I've added it as a bound script to my Plugins Scripts sub-menu on the Effects menu dropdown. Now I just have to play with it for awhile. Lots of tweaks seem to be available, and tools on the menu bar, but I'm finding I have to get used to some of the terminology.

Re: Toning with PSP
Thank you, Jean-Luc, for the tutorial reference. It was very thoughtful of you to remember my interest in toning. This has been an interest of mine for quite a while but due to health issues I couldn't pursue it. Now that my health has improved I am trying to finish what I had started. Thank you again for your kindness.
