Hi. I'm sure this is a super-basic question, but I haven't used VS in a while and just upgraded to 2018 Ultimate. I'm trying to insert transitions (e.g., fade-to-black) between clips without shortening a clip's length. For example, I want to insert a 1 second transition between Clips 1 and 2 on my Timeline. But instead of pushing Clip 2 and all the subsequent clips to the right, the 1-second transition becomes part of Clip 1, thus shortening the amount of time Clip 1 is displayed/played. If Clip 1 is 3 seconds, for example, I want it to play for 3 seconds and then have the 1-sec transition, before moving on Clip 2 and so on. To be clear, I have arranged a series of clips on my Timeline, and I don't want to remove them in order to insert transitions. How do I insert transitions between clips in my Timeline without shortening the playing time of any of the clips in my timeline?
Thanks in advance.
Martin

Re: Need Help Inserting Transitions Between Clips
Insert a black color still frame. Transitions are implemented to smoothly go from one clip to the next and they are overlapped.
