Long clips and the effects don't move at all.
My daughter was messing around with some videos she wanted to add some of the moving effects likes bubbles, if her clip is very short as in seconds then they move, but if she has a 5 minute clip then they just stay static why is this? Is it a flaw in this version?

They are keyframes based, so if she took the defaults than them bubbles will moooovvvvveeee verry sssllloooowww in a 5 min clip. but if you scroll jump you will see they moved.

Thanks
Didn't know that myself as i have never used them, might be a bit hard for her to do then, is there a tutorial on how to do it?

Hi jexxer
Can you make sure Smart Proxy files have been created for the video file, that could / may improve playback.

Hi Lata i don't think that will help in this case, when she made what she did and rendered it still came out not moving.

Hi
In which case I would suspect the type of video, Is it the same as the shorter clip?
Can you provide the properties of that video.?
Right click the clip on the timeline and choose properties.
If the video was recorded with a I phone then would use a variable frame rate and those can cause problems for editing programs, your best option is to convert the video to a more editable format using a constant frame rate.
Oh If you remove all effects are you able to render the clip.?

Trevor, the problem is not the video, it's the bubbles.
put them on a 5min clip and you'll see they hardly bubble...

Re: Long clips and the effects don't move at all.
Hi Thanks asik
Now I see the problem
The bubbles move over the screen and longer clips cause the effect to slow down.
I did try cutting the clip into smaller sections that seemed to work but one minute seems still to slow
There is a speed setting from Customise Advanced again does not speed up enough.

Re: Long clips and the effects don't move at all.
Hi,
Yes you now see the problem lata, I am thinking about upgrading to VideoStudio 2018 so i thought i could give this version to my daughter, I have never used the bubbles effect so when my daughter said it wasn't working i had a go myself tweaking everything including the speed setting in the advanced tab which didn't seem to improve it much.

These FX's not meant for long clips. VS2018 will be just the same on that aspect.

Thank you asik1.
I was meaning to say i want to upgrade not to do with the FX's, So then i can give my daughter this version that's why i have been letting her play around with it. But i have i feeling if they are not made for long clips then it might not be for her.

Re: Long clips and the effects don't move at all.
Hi Jezzer
Are the bubbles effects that important, I ran X8 to check the offers and it was giving me a 75% discount that’s just over £21 for the 2018 ultimate version.
If you do not see a popup discount offer go to Settings Messages, the discounts should show there.
I must admit I had not realised that the effect slows with longer clips, like Asik I would add to small clips, maybe when creating an intro.

Just a thought about upgrading this way if i do will this mean my daughter wont be able to have this version on her PC?

Jezzer,
back to the bubbles,
the only way to make a faster bubbly shot is by chopping/duplicating it this way

Re: Long clips and the effects don't move at all.
Hi Jezzar
The purchased version is the full Ultimate version with its own serial number and not an upgrade from the older version.
You would have two separate programs, we are of course only allowed to install the same version of Video Studio on one computer as EULA, however I do not know how Corel polices that although the web installer aka stub is more complex, we have to provide a serial number to download then install. Effectively we register before installing.
With previous versions, serial numbers were entered after download whilst installing.
For re- installs we are prompted to register, simply adding the original email address is sufficient.
