Unable to burn Bluray Discs
I am been trying to burn my project to a Bluray Disc in Video studio x10 but keep getting unspecified error 5.0.0. I have followed all the correct procedures but to no avail. Would like some advice. Thanks

Re: Unable to burn Bluray Discs
Since you want a bluray disk result it's obviously a large project. So, since you didn't give much detail - a few checks: would you confirm
the obvious
1. what version of X10 are you using, and the OS
2. you have the VS blu-ray driver installed as part of X10
3. your PC has a bluray-capable burner as part of its configuration
and the not so obvious
4. how did you assemble your content in the burn module: individual rendered file components, or as a project file?
5. what was the format (file type) of the components you wanted to burn to disk - all the same or did they vary? or was it the project file directly ie, the project file edited, you went then to share and thru the disk creation process, whereby the project appears in the burn module cilp list.
6. were you burning direct to disk? if so, at what stage (there are several in the process) did the error message appear?
7. have you tried creating a disk image (burning but to a disk file - saves wasting disks as drink coasters) first?

Re: Unable to burn Bluray Discs
I am using x10 Ultimate on a Windows 10. I have the Bluray driver installed and have a Blu-ray burner installed. I rendered my project MPEG 2 and saved it to my drive. I then cleared my timeline and opened a new project went to the share option and clicked to Blu-ray disc. I imported my video did a final edit and clicked to burn and after a while, the error message comes up. I did not try creating a disc image but will do so now. I have just tried creating a disc image and was successful but still unable to burn.

Re: Unable to burn Bluray Discs
It would be interesting to know the properties of the mpeg-2 you created in Edit. For Blu-Ray it would need to be 1920 x 1080 or 1440 x 1080. Could you please right click on the file inside either the VS timeline or in the VS library window and copy its Properties here, or take a screen shot of the Properties box and upload it here as an Attachment.
Have you successfully burnt Blu-Ray discs using X10 before?

Re: Unable to burn Bluray Discs
Were you able to play the disk image file you created (eg, using VLC, select media and then open folder, and choose the folder where you saved the blu-ray disk image)?
If that played OK, then you could try burning the disk from that saved image using another program (eg burnaware free) that burns bluray. If both of these are OK, then the issue is with X10 (which version? the latest is 10.5.0.60) and the bluray plug-in, and quite possibly the combination of these and windows 10.

Re: Unable to burn Bluray Discs
I tried burning with another program but the burn failed. Tried another disc but the same problem even using two different programs.

Re: Unable to burn Bluray Discs
The only thing common to this seems to be the burner and the disk. And you indicated that this was the first time you had burned a bluray disk. Are you certain the burner in your PC is a bluray burner/player? Somewhere on the disk front panel/slide there should be that stylised/copyrighted Bd symbol.

Re: Unable to burn Bluray Discs
It would still be useful to know the Properties of your mpeg-2. And the screenshot of the Properties box never showed. Could you try posting that again please.

Re: Unable to burn Bluray Discs
Sorry but I am unable to read the properties details
If you use Alt - Prt Scr, it will copy the properties window only.
Create a jpeg of that panel to attach to your post

Re: Unable to burn Bluray Discs
Thanks -- much better. But those Properties are clearly those for standard definition video, and used in DVD production rather than Blu-Ray. So I need to ask what the Properties of the video you used in the project were *before* you rendered them to mpeg-2 with these Properties. Did they come from a high definition source, or were they only from a standard definition camera? While standard def mpeg-2 can be used in a Blu-Ray project, it would most likely need to be rendered again during the burning process to give it certain BD flags. The end quality would probably also not be very good...

Re: Unable to burn Bluray Discs
These videos were taken by my old camcorder using mini tapes. I was given to understand that is was a High def. the camera, however, I could be wrong. It was a Panasonic NV- GS300 CCD. I don't know if that's any help. Should I render it as a MPEG 4?
