Just wondering if there is a way to Disable or toggle the Red-coloured Snapping lines (guides) that show up in the Preview Area?
While they are helpful for aligning objects to other objects, I have a Project where I want to place elements in somewhat random spots, and this feature is interfering with that goal.
I looked around in the pull-down menus and the Settings and have done a few searches in the Help Topics and the User Guide for Snap-To and Snapping, etc - but haven't come across anything yet...
Here is an example of the red lines I mean to make it clearer:
Thanks for any ideas!

Hi
That appears to be new to 2018, I do not think there is an option to disable that.
I have not really found it a problem.
Try using your keyboard arrow keys to position your clips. Does that work for you?
Oh the image you provided on your post is very small, cannot be viewed in detail, I had to download to view on my pc

Double click on image in overlay track to to open editing panel.
Select the Effects tab.
Deselect (uncheck) Show Grid Lines checkbox.
Does that fix it?

Thank you for your reply - using the arrows still 'snaps' to the red guide lines that pop up, but it is pretty good at getting the objects to be randomized.lata wrote:Hi

It appeard to 'snap' from much farther with the mouse - thanks for that!
Sorry about the image, I did not think of phones; I just clipped a bit of the red dotted lines... Here is a larger example of the Red Guide Lines (dotted red lines) that show up when two elements are aligned:

Thank you for your reply - but that is slightly different than the Red Guide Lines that pop up when two elements are aligned. (Example of the Red Lines below) The Blue Lines appear to be Guide Lines that can be used to line up elements. (Example of the Blue Lines below) Thank you though, this is a useful Option!gewb wrote:Double click on image in overlay track to to open editing panel.

For now I think I may be able to just tap the Arrow Keys to move the elements away from each other slightly... It works lightly better than using the mouse.

Re: Way to Disable Red Guidelines (Snapping) in Preview Area
The red cross hair only seems to appear when there is a clip above the title clip.
Re you able to set your text boxes without clips above?
I do not know how to remove that line.
As a bit of a workround--Set show Grid Lines, set the grid size to 100
Now you can move title clips providing they are in the middle, nearer the edge and Snap To occurs.
Deselecting Snap To shows the red lines again.
Catch 22

Ah, got it. I haven't found a way to disable that but nudging with the arrow keys works well.Troy at TheGTAMblog wrote: Thank you for your reply - but that is slightly different than the Red Guide Lines that pop up when two elements are aligned.
