Hi, ehume
Still feel sorry for what you faced ..... and still cannot see this in our side.
And I am still focusing on your original post "This is new behavior", it means the PSP 2018 was good in the beginning and had this issue after a specific "event".
From time to time, we would get the complain from user after some changes made on the system but not in PSP side.
Ex: Windows Update (the most), install/remove new application, some unexpected setting changed ..... etc
However we may not exactly know what's the root cause, windows may not tell us what change had been made.
Sorry that you had this issue.

I understand. Windows is a complex environment, and the fact that older versions of PSP still work is a miracle. Thanks for supporting me through all this.ericlin-corel wrote:Hi, ehume

Re: Windows Backgrounds Turn Yellow
I have something to add. Opening PSP 2018, as usual, invokes yellow windows. But when I select File > Color Management > Monitor Calibration... when the window opens, the yellow is gone! Normally, I have to right-click on the desktop, choose Personalize from the context menu, click on Display then click on Calibrate color the press Next to turn off yellow windows.
From PSP 2018 there is one fewer mouseclick to turn off yellow windows.

Re: Windows Backgrounds Turn Yellow
BTW -- I forgot to mention: when the yellow is turned off, one may then press Cancel both in Windows and PSP2018.
My next experiment was to turn off the yellow, then save the workspace. I found that when I restart PSP 2018, the yellow windows are back. When I load the workspace I saved, nothing happens. The PSP workaround (Monitor Calibration) still works, but I must use one or the other workaround to turn the yellow off.

Re: Windows Backgrounds Turn Yellow
I DL'd a trial version of PSP 2019. That does not invoke yellow windows. So why does PSP 2018 still provoke yellow windows?

Re: Windows Backgrounds Turn Yellow
Well I have just caught the yellow window bug.
I tested how far back it went File > New > 1000 x 1000white image and it is yellow in X8, X9, 2018, 2019 but white in all earlier versions of PSP. So what has changed between PSP X7 and PSP X8?
I did not have this last week, but since then have updated Windows 10 to version 1803.
Am now testing in earlier versions of Windows and wil report back.
Hope I don't run out of installs if I have to install some latest versions on those C drives (even if in same computer chassis).
OK still in Windows 10.
Had 2019 and X7 open together on screen with 'white' document - yellow in 2019 and white in X7.
Tried to see if could calibrate in Windows , but since it is a difference in versions of PSP suspect it lies in PSP.
So looked at Fle > Color Management > Color Management for each version.
Both were turned on but one was yellow and the other white.
Then looked at differences:
Monitor profile was different - 2019 had set 2770M.ici while X7 had sRGB Color Space Profile .icm
Changed 2019 profile to sRGB Color Space Profile .icm clicked OK and now 2019 is white again.
Changed X7 profile to 2770M.ici and got the yellow in X7. Changed it back to sRGB Color Space Profile .icm and got the white back again.
So adjusted 2019 to sRGB Color Space Profile .icm to get white screen and closed. Opened 64 bit version of 2019 and it was also white so the change carried over and remained.
So for me the yellow screen is solved.

Re: Windows Backgrounds Turn Yellow
It certainly helps that a high power user has the bug. I guess I am lucky to still be running Win 7-64, that my x9 and the 2019 trial do not have this bug. Have not tried these builds on Win 10. I may reinstall some older versions on Win 7 to see if they produce this bug. It would be nice to know what causes it, though.hartpaul wrote:Well I have just caught the yellow window bug.

You have my sympathies, of course. Hopefully, the workarounds work. They work for me.

@hartpaul, it is usually a better idea, when posting a solution to an issue, to do it in a separate post rather than an edit to a previous post, so that those who have read the original post get a notice of a new post, which they don't get when a post has been edited unfortunately.

Re: Windows Backgrounds Turn Yellow
Sorry about that just trying to reduce the length of these threads but guess that is not a consideration on these boards. I feel that when threads start to get to more than 2 pages people stop reading through the whole thread and questions get repeated and answers suggested that were done previously and so continuing to make the threads longer and longer and less readable for newer persons coming upon them.
In any case I did a bit of checking with other versions of Windows.
I opened the Color management section in PSP 2018 in Win 7, 8.1, 10v1607 and 10v1803 and surprisingly they are different. In all cases color management was turned on and a section of a white document is shown behind..
Windows 7 - in my case no other profile choices Windows 8.1 - only one choice Windows 10 Version 1607 - again no choice for Monitor profile Windows 10 version 1803 - differnt computer and monitor 2 choices So question arises where are these Monitor profiles located, where and how do you add new profiles.

I hate to burst bubbles, but
PSPx9: PSP2018: PSP2019: I have tried enabling color management in PSP2018 but nothing changes the yellow windows. Also, PSPX9 and PSP2019 do not produce the problem.

And as soon as I got done telling you that nothing worked, the problem went away. Now I can use my lovely PSP 2018. It is gratifying since I have been using Jasc's Paintshop (no Pro) since it came to me in a shareware pack.

Re: Windows Backgrounds Turn Yellow
No, I do agree that it's a consideration on these boards. It's just that I was suggesting that we have to be selective. In this case, once having posted about having an issue, people might read that you/others have the same issue. And they won't get the notification that the issue was solved by one of the previous posters if that previous poster just edits the previous post to say they have solved the problem. It takes a new post for them to get that notification so that they will return to the thread and see the post with the solution.hartpaul wrote:Sorry about that just trying to reduce the length of these threads but guess that is not a consideration on these boards.

Re: Windows Backgrounds Turn Yellow
I am having the same problem, but it is with PSP 2019 and it started while I was on vacation - in airplane mode (so no updates). I use Windows 10 and haven't changed it. I tried the File/Color Management/Color Management thing. It only delayed the awful yellow color coming up. Before vacation, I hadn't used PSP for at least several weeks, so I don't know when the glitch occurred. But I can't do anything with my RAW files right now, because I can't stand this harsh yellow everywhere! Please help!

Is it possible that you could try un-install/ reinstall the PSP 2019?
Another question is: Before you had seen this issue, have you ever used this color management function?
Thanks.

Never used the color management function - didn't even know how to get to it without following the step by step click instructions in this thread. I'll try the uninstall/reinstall. Hope that makes the difference.
