Hello everyone,
I've used my VideoStudio Pro X9 for a rather extensive project before, but lately I've come up against a new problem in a new setting that I'm hoping you can help me with.
So, before when I was editing with VS, I was using a Toshiba laptop with 4 GB ram and Intel Pentium. It was slow-going at times, but the project came out quite well. I recently upgraded to a DELL Inspiron laptop with 8GB ram and Intel i5. I needed to get started on this editing project, so VideoStudio Pro was one of the very first programs I installed. The performance of the preview window and editing/sharing windows has been SO much better than my old machine.
The problem is...when I go to render my project (I'm rendering the audio and video separately), the audio file shows up with "jerks," I'll say at several places where clips are put together. It is as though a piece of the preceding clip is randomly repeated to throw a strange syllable into the audio. These strange little "jerks" are not in the edited VS file...it plays great. I finally decided to take the rendered audio file and put it back into VS, then zoom up and take out these "phantom" sounds. That worked pretty well...until I noticed that the render had also managed to delete the audio from the beginning of one of the clips! Again, the clips play fine in the edit.
I have updated my audio driver (Realtek), downloaded the QuickTime CODEC as suggested elsewhere on the forum, updated to X9.5, and tried multiple settings. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Source files:
.MP4 files loaded onto external hard drive
All shot on the same Canon T6i
29.97 fps
Audio Profile:
Microsoft WAV Files
PCM
48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
I'm shooting for going to NTSC DVD with this project, if (hopefully!) this problem can be cleared up! Thank you SO much for your ideas and help!

Re: Audio Rendering Problem
Hi
There have been many reports of poor audio renders where a “blip” shows at the ends / joins between clips.
One such post, quite long, but no actual fix.

Corel did provide a hotfix for CVSX 10.5 but inconclusive as being a fix.
I did create a short project showing the problem, I’ll try to find those for you to have a look.
I have located an image clearly showing the blip.

I do not know if this is the same issue you are having but would urge you to contact Corel Support

Re: Audio Rendering Problem
Hello there,
Thank you for your reply. I have a case going with Corel as I type! So far, their suggestion was to update the audio drivers, which I have done. We'll see what develops from here!
Yes, as your screenshot shows, I have been able to locate the phantom sounds in the audio file if I put it back into VS...I was able to mute most of the problem areas that way and thought I could just go with that for this project. That was until I found where, as mentioned above, the beginning of one clip's audio was deleted! I have tried re-adding the clip into the project, but it still deletes that part of the audio in the rendered file.
