Entering 8PT font can't see characters

Hi,
I know PSP is not a word processor. However, i want to size out text to be added to a jpg I opened. I added a Vector layer. Whether 8pt is the correct size or not, I was not able to zoom out to see the characters i typed. Look at the attachment. the bar that you see are my repeatedly typing the letter "s" Arial 8PT. Under it you do see when I changed to 20 PT. I'll bet this has something to do with canvas size that is not large. The jpg I opened was 67KB.

When dealing with points it has to do with Pixel per inch resolution. A point is 1/72 of an inch. So if your image is set to 72ppi then 1 inch is 72 pixels, and 8 points is exactly 8 pixels. However, if you have say 150ppi then 8 points is 17 pixels (after rounding). (8/72) * 150.

You were right on! Changed to little ole pixels and can see my little ole typed characters.
