VS2018 3D Title Editor
My apologies if this has been covered before but I can't find the topic.
When I add a 3D title to my project (on the title track) and click it to edit, I just get the following message on the screen:
"(picture of hourglass) 3D Title Editor Is Running, Please Close To Continue Editing"
The only way I can get out of this is to close VS using Task Manager. Even if I wait quite a long time.
Any help appreciated.

Hi John
No apologies needed
Cannot check this feature at the moment as I am rendering a project.
View your quick launch tool bar at the bottom of monitor, is the 3DTE minimised there?

Hi Trevor,
Thanks for the reply. 3DTE is minimised below the preview pane. If I click that then VS inserts the 3D title onto the title track but then I get the same thing;
"(picture of hourglass) 3D Title Editor Is Running, Please Close To Continue Editing"
Again I need Task Manager to escape from this.

Re: VS2018 3D Title Editor
Hi John
When you go to the task manager do you see the 3DTitle Editor listed?
I know you say you close/ end task, but was that 3DT or VS?
After hitting the T3d icon
Can you try pressing Alt + Tab key
That should switch to the last window and back.
And if that does not show the 3D Title Editor panel I think you should re-install the program.
First though you can try resetting the program by re-naming the 21.0 folder
Some info here.
http://lata.me.uk/corel/reset/reset.htm
Oh one more thought, when running Video Studio, right click the vs icon and choose “run as administrator”, long shot.

It is VS but once or twice it was 3DT

This just returns me to this (Corel User to User) page

Done thatDt
But having saved the libraries to the desktop, I am only able to import some of them
Oh one more thought, when running Video Studio, right click the vs icon and choose “run as administrator”, long shot.
Now done all of the above and the 3DT icon now appears in the lower taskbar.
I will try it out tomorrow morning because it is now time for a large Scotch.
Many thanks Trevor

Re: VS2018 3D Title Editor
After following the advice given, now all seems well and the 3D titler is working.
It does take 3 minutes to load but then seems to be o/k.
When I 'reset' the programme I exported the Libraries to a folder on my desktop. On trying to import after the reset, I managed to import 3/4 of the libraries.
If I try to import a second time VS stops working and I resort to Task Manager again. Not really a problem as I can rebuild the missing libraries.
Thanks yet again Trevor.

Re: VS2018 3D Title Editor
Hi
Well at least things are improving………..
When you reset the program you renamed the folder 21.0
That would reset the library, now importing the library gives problems, I can only assume the old library to be corrupt in some way,
You can revert back to “before reset” simply by renaming the 21.0 folders again, the old folder would then be used.
However if the libraries are corrupt you will revert to using those.
The 3DTE should start almost instantly, just tried on my pc it opened in approx. 3 seconds
I did not ask what version of Video Studio you are running, as far as I know the latest is 21.2.0.113
Help – About. I re-installed about a week ago to test the Cleanup tool.
Another thing to try would be to reset the library, don’t think we have done that.
It does appear you will be building the library from scratch.
I think you should re-install the entire program.

Re: VS2018 3D Title Editor
Hello Trevor,
I have now rest the library and just have 'Samples' & 'Score Fitter Music' but that's fine, I can easily rebuild where needed.
My version number is 21.2.0.113 64 ULT.
If I select 'New Project' and just put a colour in the first video track, then open 3DT, it opens quite quickly, so all seems well.
One further question please, when I go to share and render as an MPEG-4, should I choose the MPEG optimizer? If I do then VS changes the output to MPEG-2 or AVC?
Also which profile is it best to use?
Again many thanks.

Re: VS2018 3D Title Editor
Hi
As far as I know this issue is still outstanding, a recent poster appears to be experiencing the same audio problem.
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=63756&p=357456#p357445
The profile you select depends on what you are trying to make………
A Bluray disc would need AVC/H264
A Standard DVD would use Mpeg2
Video For the internet could be Mpeg4 Mov or Wmv, Mpeg4 becoming the most popular.
The Mpeg Optimizer, would convert depending on the project settings but would only be available for Mpeg or Mts type video.
There are two other options, a little greyed out, top left, Same as Project Settings and Same as First Clip.
The later are useful if you are trying to match the original video properties.
If you own a AVCHD camcorder if that records to MTS then same as settings could be useful to retain the settings being Bluray Compliant.
If required the default settings can be tweaked to some extent to match the original video.
Although for the most part the default settings are suitable
So the question is, what are your original video files and what are you intending to make?

Re: VS2018 3D Title Editor
Hello Trevor,
My Cameras produce .MTS files and JPG files (Panasonic HDC-SDT750) and Panasonic Lumix.
I also insert other Video files, usually MP4 but also WMV.
On this project (35 minutes) it is probably 50% JPG, 25% MTS and 25% MP4.
I also use pan/zoom on all JPG's and lots of other effects, now including 3D titles.
Regards, John

Re: VS2018 3D Title Editor
I have now 'shared' my project as an MP4 using the default settings and also as an MP2 utilising the optimizer.
Both outputs seem to be o/k with no discernible difference in quality.
My end aim is to produce an AVCHD DVD.

Re: VS2018 3D Title Editor
Hi John
Your MTS video files are AVCHD as such are suitable for creating not only Bluray but AVCHD DVD.
The disc will hold approx. 30 minutes of video at 18000kbps.
You should set your project properties to match your MTS video files
You should render your project to Same as Project Settings or Same as First clip, where the first clip is MTS.
The resultant file depending on duration should be below 4.3 Gb, that will fit to disc to burn a Avchd DVD, as I say approx. 30 minutes duration.
To burn the disc – start a new project
Share – Disc - Avchd adding your AVCHD video file after opening the burner module.
Complete the menu structure and burn the AVCHD DVD
