In PSP 2018 x64 I've created a custom toolbar Books Scan with some commands and some bound scripts. When I select Customize (right-click empty edit area), I can set the various items to show only text. The next time I open PSP it's back to image + text.
I tried saving the workspace, closing PSP, opening and loading that workspace, but it still does it.
(For me, reinstalling or resetting PSP to defaults isn't worth the time--I have several versions installed and point all of them to a single set of folders, i.e., all versions point to one Brushes folder, etc. I would have to reset all that manually for PSP 2018.)

I can't help with this problem in particular. But I saw the little aside you put there at the bottom and wanted to respond to that.
So if I gave you a script that could backup and restore your file locations it would be worth it to you to try? Cassel showed me an old script that copied over PSP8 file locations into PSP9. It can be adapted pretty easily to a backup and restore script.
Technically don't need a script. You can just do a quick export of your registry and load that back in after closing PSP. Open Regedit.exe go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\PaintShop Pro\X10\FileLocations Right-click on FileLocations and choose Export. Give it a filename. Now, Reset PSP, close PSP again, double click on the reg file you just created and it'll reload your file locations the next time PSP runs.
But if you'd prefer a script to using the registry that is doable.

I suspect that a lot of people would be happy to have that script!LeviFiction wrote:I can't help with this problem in particular. But I saw the little aside you put there at the bottom and wanted to respond to that.

I agree as there are those who shy away from anything registry related.JoeB wrote: I suspect that a lot of people would be happy to have that script!

Re: Text-only custom toolbar reloads with image+text
I'd rather not try. I really don't use PSP much and Book Scan is the only custom toolbar I've made. I currently have 32-bit X8 and X9 installed and 64-bit X9 and 2018. I had 32-bit 2018 installed but it looks like somehow the install got partially deleted and I haven't reinstalled it. Also, I've downloaded the 2018 64-but Update 1 but haven't installed it.LeviFiction wrote:I can't help with this problem in particular. One of the things I do is set up junctions that point to a different drive, to not clutter up my SSD C:\ drive. Whenever I do an install, the installer puts all the files and folders in the original C:\.. location, then I have to move everything, then update all the file locations.
Normally, I just use the Tools toolbar, which works fine.
