Hi all,
Like my subject. I had 8 layers. Masked most of them. I decided to crop one layer. I did not know ALL would be cropped same. I did NOT think I saved the project. I must have because when I reopened it - it did not revert to the pre-CRAPPED (mean CROPPED version. I believe I could have backed out had I NOT resaved.
If you guys know of a any other recovery if I do this (probably will never mess up like this again), clue me in.

Do you have PSP preserve originals? The first time you hit "Save" in a new installation of PSP it asks if you wish to preserve originals. If you say "yes" to this, it'll create a hidden folder and save the original version of the file into that folder before saving your edits and overwriting the original. You can then use the command Edit -> Restore original
It only saves the first original, so any subsequent saves after the first original is there it won't save. So you're talking about going all of the way back to the beginning of when you first edited that document and PSP preserved the original for you.
If you're not sure if you have Auto-Preserve turned on you can check by going to your General Preferences then selecting Auto-Preserve on the left and seeing if the checkbox is checked on the right.

Read this ... then EDIT below ...
Thanks for the quick and detailed response/suggestion. I did not have Auto Preserve checked. Might do that. However, my originals, which are always a copy placed in a temp folder were not changed. To clarify (possibly)- when I opted to crop one of the layers (is of one of the images and a copy of it), that apparently changed the canvas size of EVERY layer, including my original background that I started with. I thought that I could do a crop of a layer and it only affecting that layer. Further, I then tried CTRL-Z but the affect of the crop did not get undone. I also looked for a history of actions (I thought I saw a tutorial that showed that ... and I should look at the pdf user manual (promise I do use it) to see if that exists.

EDIT #1: - FLASH!!! Just did a quick search for "Undo" in the trusty PSP manual. Yep, I see "History" F3 - I probably could have recovered. Boy, there are loads of undo features. BUT, why did ALL layers get cropped in the first place???
EDIT #2: I've no idea why earlier when I manipulated (rotated, resized) ALL layers did same? This is not happening now. I had since closed and reopened the project in course of doing other things. Those are the FACTS. You may never of experienced this. I did. Still, PSP 2018U is fantastic!
