Free Graphics Pack

Post by RickMen »

I'm new to VS 2018 having spent the last 10 years on version X2 pro so I'm still feeling my way around. I just downloaded the free graphics pack under GET MORE (I thought it was a good idea lol) and it seem to run through the installation just fine but the problem is that I can't tell if its successfully installed/loaded them into VS2018 panel. One reason is that I wasn't too familiar with what was there beforehand. I found some stuff under Graphics section but I can't tell if it includes the new downloaded (100+) stuff. Can someone suggest what I should be looking for? For example it talks about 50 extra background images but I only have 25 existing images in the panel.

Hi

the instructions to install are a little confusing.
When we download the pack it shows as installing, but that is extracting the files to our desktop in a Graphics pack folder
That folder contains - see attached image.

each .exe file has to be run to install to the program.
The actual clips are saved here as Jpeg / png etc.

C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPContent\Decoration
they will show in the appropriate graphics library
names with BG being backgrounds, OB are objects, FR are frames etc.

The Do More Title .exe, there are 6.
two are Title/text clips adding 10 titles to the "T" library
the others are Fonts adding fonts to the "C:\Windows\Fonts" folder

There are 3 other Template packs to download, installation is the same as above but save / installed to
C:\Users\Trevor\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPTemplate

I believe all are Instant Project Templates

Hi Trevor,

I did have a look at the desktop, there was a folder called Video Studio2018 that I didn't previously recognise, but there was nothing in that folder. There is no other Graphics pack folder on my desktop.

I don't have the folder C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPContent\Decoration.

My existing graphics are located under C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2018\Samples\Decoration.

Also I searched but I didn't find any new *.exe on my C drive other than:-

Hi

Sorry missed your comment regarding the Graphics folder missing from the desktop.
When we download and install the Graphics from the Get More, it should install a folder on the desktop, just running that now.???

---------------------

The Video Studio2018 folder on your desktop was the default folder to hold the downloaded program files, i assume you chose another location, that empty folder can be removed

The files in C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2018\Samples\Decoration. are from the program installation, most from the Contents packs.

The VSPContents / Decoration folders are created when you first run one of the graphics .exe files.

I have had some problems in viewing the clips in the graphics library, i installed the FR01 and 02, each added 5 clips / images
the library created a duplicate Frame library folder, some clips needed re-linking, not normal?

resetting the library did not help, but resetting the program cured the relink, but still have two folders, not really a problem, but unusual?

Hi

The file in the temp folder should have installed automatically creating the folder on desktop.
I am downloading again to test this, slow to download at approx. 66%
You can try running the GraphicPack.exe from the temp folder
And if that does not work you should download again, view the progress bar top right of Welcome screen.
But as I say once downloaded it should prompt you to install.
Maybe you closed before the download was complete? It is slow.

I have downloaded the Graphics pack at 1.197,822Kb ( 1.2 Gb a bit big ) and it is automatically installing
As expected created a Graphics Folder on my desktop at 340 Mb, so why on earth is the EXE over 1 Gb?

From that folder run each .exe file to install to VS.
