Stuck in preview timeline

Hello everyone,

I was in composing a video about 40 min and suddenly a small section of a few clips in the middle of the timeline got stuck. When playing the preview and get to a certain section, about 5 sec long , in the timeline it stopped. If I push the PLAY button, then it advance a couple of frames and then stop and continue until it passed a that section. After that section the preview run smoothly. If I played those clip individually, it has no problem. I removed those clips , all titles and audio clips within that section but the preview still suck in the same position.

I tried to play with Smart Proxy ,hardware decoding, encoding and optimization but the problem is still there.

Really appreciate if anyone can provide information how to resolve this issue.

Its been a few hours since your post, have you fixed this issue.

I do not really know what is going on here, sees very strange.
Are there any markers at the top of the timelines, an orange bar? Could be the preview range, even so should not be as you describe?

I am composing a 60 minute long VSP using VS2018 but VS2018's rendering gets 'stuck' on a video clip only 1 minute into the VSP. Hence although VS2018 renders out a file of the correct 60 minute length, when viewed, the video is clearly 'stuck' only 1 minute into the 60 minute duration. The solution is to export the video from VS2018 as a X8 VSP and then render it using X8 which can successfully render the video. Hence you might try exporting the VSP into an earlier version and see if it renders in an earlier version of VS.

Thanks for your recommendations. I finally able to resolve this crazy issue. The problem is there is a very very tiny thing( I am not sure it is a clip ) in my voice over track that is located much further down the timeline than the 'stuck position'. Once I delete this strange 'object', then all went smooth. I don't know how it get there, it just a line (probable 1 frame) in the timeline that you can easily missed.

Thanks for the feedback on this one

Interesting as two other posters have reported a strange 1 frame object added to the timelines.
One poster provided his project file, It appeared to be an image one frame duration, showing as a blue line? yet did not act like an image, hard to explain,
I was able to expand the object to view as an image, but even expanded showed properties as a frame, very strange.
deleting that object fixed the problem.

Something to remember
