Hi
For some time Corel ist offering a discount on something called "multi cam capture".
When contemplating whether to buy it or not I found that it never says, how I attach my multiple cameras to the PC. I am not talking about USB/webcams, but plain stills/video cams (Sony Alpha).
Can anyone tell me what I would have to do or which adapter there is to buy?
Thanks in advance
Jan

Re: Multi cam capture
Hi Jan
Although I have heard the terms Multi Cam Capture I know little about it.
I have viewed the Corel site but did not find any reference, are you able to provide a URL of the web site?
Do they provide a trial version? Although I guess not.
I would expect that connections would be via usb being the most common connections on our pc.
Unless others on the forum have information on that product I think you should contact Corel Support.

Re: Multi cam capture
Hi Iata
There is no URL for it. It is simply in the VideoStudio store, i.e. I can choose to buy the software directly from VideoStudio, but I do not get any more information about it.
I thought that maybe someone around here would already have bought it and knows how to use multiple cameras.
My cameras only have USB for data transfer, not for a video stream, I have already tried that.
I presume that there must be something like a multiple HDMI-in with a single USB out, to connect to the PC, but I am not sure if that would even work technically.

Re: Multi cam capture
Hi
I viewed the video via the Pinnacle site, it gave little reference to camera connections other than to say it recognised our web cams and any other devices connected.
From that I would expect usb to be used, after all usb’s are pretty fast nowadays.
I would expect most cameras have usb out.
Not sure it does enough for me although you can set the colour / brightness levels which could be useful, after that it simply starts all devices recording at the same time, so recordings are in sync, that saves on syncing in the MCE, the final recordings are then edited using MCE.
If you are seeing the details from the Welcome screen within Video Studio , I do not have access to that at the moment. Maybe need to re-install.
Hopefully others can comment.

Hi Trevor
Maybe the advert is bound to countries, hence you do not see it in the UK while I see it in Germany.
It should also be a hint for Corel to better explain what they are trying to sell ...
Let us hope that someone will enlighten us as to how to get two non-webcam video streams into a PC.
