I recently re installed Video 10X Pro after an absence from the program and when I did I was shocked to find it left a 5.15 GB folder on my desktop. This files is larger than my One Drive account allows.
So now One Drive wants me to purchase more space but I just don't need it. There new method of leaving One Drive is through a Quit Link but I'm unsure how this will affect my other files in Desktop - Documents and Downloads.
I asked Corel if I could remove the folder and store it on a USB or on my D Drive and they said no. I thought they might be installation files required for installation - Who leaves 5 GB folders on your desktop.
How did you guys resolve this issue and is it the same install on 2018 Video Pro.
This is their post - Sometimes I don't understand their answers because of the language I think -
I do understand your concern. Let me help you regarding this. I just want let you know that the VideoStudio requires 4-6 GB memory to install on a particular computer. Please dont delete the files says, VideoStudio_install. You can move to the USB or other drives, but it will be slow in editing process. For further details go through the information below to know the system requirements: '
Then she just gives me the installation requirements which looks like 4-6 GB on your system and 4-6 GB on your desktop ?

Re: Installation - 5 GB Folder Left On Desktop
Welcome to the forum!
That folder is indeed the installation files for VS, and you get a similar one if you install VS 2018. It's useful if you want to reinstall the whole package or parts of it. But I am surprised that Corel told you that you can't delete it or store it elsewhere. Deleting it would make reinstallation a much longer process, and you would end up with another folder on your desktop. But I would have thought transferring to another HDD or external HDD would retain its utility. Others may have a different opinion on this and I hope they will jump in here with their views.
I'm a little puzzled, though, what this has to do with your One Drive account unless you were wanting to transfer the folder to One Drive. I would simply use an external USB hard drive, and they are quite cheap these days.

Re: Installation - 5 GB Folder Left On Desktop
I don't have any Corel installation folders on the desktop, once the program is installed, I move the folder to 3 other portable drives, (have had the situation where the main drive crashes as well as a portable drive, leaving me with nothing)
Not had any issues reinstalling the programs direct from the portable drives, in fact other than the installed programs on C: everything else is located on other drives

Re: Installation - 5 GB Folder Left On Desktop
Hi
The web installer, that’s a small 10 Mb file, maybe called “VideoStudio_Install.exe”
Just to confuse us that 10Mb file may have other names “VS2018_Online.exe”
As far as I know the latest version is 10,954Mb
Run that file to download the program, by default it will create a folder on our desktop.
But we can choose any folder for our download location, view image.
I never download to the desktop, I always create a different location. One Drive
I can only assume you have synchronised your Desktop with One Drive, that will automatically upload any files placed on the Desktop.
I believe One Drive will again by default choose all folders to sync, but we can choose the ones we wish to backup or not as the case maybe........
I would check your One Drive settings.

Re: Installation - 5 GB Folder Left On Desktop
You'll notice that with the custom options you can choose both the download location and the installed location.
Since the chosen download location is simply a place where the extracted installable files are located prior to installation (and you can choose a different location on the PC for the installed files), I'd suggest that you don't choose C: as a location - that just puts a bunch of uninstalled data on the drive to clutter it up.
If you use a custom install - like lata suggests, above - and choose a download folder anywhere else on your PC, you'll get that VS folder on the desktop, but it's empty. Once the download is complete, install it. Run the install option from the stub, and on completion you can delete that empty desktop folder.
