Hitting Imported Clip Length Limit

Post by XclamationPoint »

Hi! I recently recorded some videos of my friends and I playing games using OBS, and they were accidentally recorded into .FLV files, but I converted them into .MP4 files using VLC Media Player, the longest video being 2:24:56 long. (The other videos were all less than an hour each.)
When dragging the two-hour-long video into the timeline, the length is shown as 1:11:34.29 and the video cuts off after that length. Multiplying this length (71.58277 minutes) by 30 (frames per second) gets 2,147.48333 (one-millionth of the 32-bit integer limit), so this may be the cause, but how can I get the rest of the video into the timeline (if possible)?

Program: VideoStudio Pro X5, version 15.0.1.34

File Info (from Windows):
Name: 2018-05-15 19-33-08 fullv2pls.mp4
Length: 2:24:56
Resolution: 1280x720
Data rate: 797kbps
Total bitrate: 956kbps
Frame rate: 30 fps
Audio bitrate: 159kbps
Channels: 2
Audio sample rate: 44.100 kHz
Size: 0.97 GB

Split the video file using a program like XMedia Recode.

Very shrewd to note the number of frames may indicate the program limit; I had not read that before. I think you are right that this is a problem because using higher bit integers is so expensive.

I think breaking your video in pieces may be the solution as already posted above. Do you really need such long videos? Who is going to watch these?

tletter, thank you, that worked. I figured out how to split videos and it worked great, I can work now.
aljimenez, it's for my friends- one of my friends has a playlist of each session we do (since we play often). Recently he hasn't been online so I've been recording for him.

Thank you both!
