I had to have my HD reformated and need to reinstall psp 9. However, it can't seem to connect to the internet to validate the serial number. I had no trouble when I originally installed a year ago. I added setup.exe to windows firewall. I've contaced Corel but still haven't heard from them since chat turned it over to tech. BTW, I get the exact same problem when trying to install WP Office x8. I was able to successfully install an earlier version of WP that I have, but not the earlier version PSP. I'm adding links to screen shots of the messages I get when trying to install. I hope someone can help me figure out what's going on and how to get PSP to install.

Re: PSP x9 won't validate the serial number
For some reason which Corel has never explained to us, it continues to link certain aspects of their programs to the Internet Explorer browser. As you are no doubt aware, even Microsoft has mothballed IE and replaced it with Microsoft Edge in Windows 10. But I suspect your problem may be linked to Internet Explorer, even if you never use it.
So try this. Go to Control Panel and click on "Internet Options". A dialogue box will open. Click on the Advanced tab. Towards the bottom of that tab, you should see a button "Reset" beside "Reset Internet Exlorer's settings to their default condition". Click that button then click OK to close the dialogue box.
Now try validating your serial number again. Hopefully it will now work.

Re: PSP x9 won't validate the serial number
Thank you for your reply. I think I figured out what the problem probably is. Both programs were registered when I installed them the first time. When I tried installing them the second time, The Corel server probably looked at the serial number and said it was already registered and wouldn't allow installation. Tech support sent me another number just a few minutes ago and I have successfully installed WP. I've contacted them again about a new number for PSP. Hopefully that will be sent soon. I do a lot of work in PSP and need it installed.
Others will probably find your advice helpful, though it was not the source of my problem. Thank you so much for answering.
