Hi,
I have just moved from version X2 pro to version 2018 and I'm a bit lost. I loaded up some clips but afterwards I noticed they were not in sequential date/time order. I need to be able to sort by date and time, at the moment I can only sort by date then it seems to sub sort them by clip name so the clips are out of sequential order. Under X2 I could load them so that they displayed on the library panel by date and time. Any suggestions?

Re: Sorting clips in folder
Hi
Yes there is a problem in sorting clips in the library in addition we cannot drag clips within the library to re-arrange the order
Although it is a known issue you should contact Corel Support to report this issue.
As a workround if you use Windows Explorer to arrange the files in your preferred order, now you should be able to drag and drop directly to Video Studio.
Make sure you select the first file in your selection when using drag and drop.
Otherwise re-name the files to match the date time to alpha numerical names.
You can do via Windows Explorer or
There is a free Bulk Rename program that will re-name any format, a little bit of a learning curve.
But could easily add a prefix 001, 002 etc to your existing file names, providing you can sort then in the right order.

Corel have a support page
https://www.corel.com/en/support/?_ga=2 ... 1526714100
On that page there is also a Chat Line that seems to work well.

Re: Sorting clips in folder
Hi Trevor,
I raised a support ticket with corel :-
I'll let you know how I go with the bulk renaming utility, it looks promising.
I raised a support ticket with corel :-
and they came back with the following:I have loaded my video clips into the media panel but the clips appear in alphabetical order which is not in the sequence I recorded the clips. I tried to sort the clips by date & time but it only sorted the clips by date (not time) so now the clips are sorted by date then sub sorted alphabetically, basically scrambled up. I just on the user forum and it appears to be a bug. Can you please provide a fix so that I can sort clips by date & time to get them in sequential order of how I filmed them.
I'm not wasting any further time with them.Thank you for contacting Corel Technical Support.
I apologize, sorting is one or the other and it cannot combine sorting filters.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions.

Hi Trevor,
The bulk renaming utility is a good work around for me. It's simple to use and works like a charm, thanks.

Well there are issues with the library clip positions that Corel should sort.
Yes the Bulk Rename is a good tool, glad you find it easy to use, I don’t use it that often and when I do it taxes my brain a little, it is good that it shows the resultant name before applying the change, keep tweaking the boxes till I get what I want, literally anything is possible.
