Something I would like to do but wondering...
I have two Jimi Hendrix Bluray Concerts and before the concerts actually start they interview previous band members and other people and this and that. What I would like to do is use MakeMKV to get an MKV file of each concert and then load it into some video editor. Then I would like to elimimate all that introductory talking and interviews etc.
I have used NCH VideoPad in the past but I have not used it with an idea like this.
I would need to make my edits and then render it as a new MKV file, and finally use another piece of software I have to burn it to Bluray Disc.
My question is if I used Corel Video Pro what would be the resulting quality of the MKV file that I make?
I know when you use MakeMKV that software is fantastic as it keeps the exact quality of the disc.
I was wondering if Corel Video Pro would be up to the task.

Just to clear up that I have another piece of software that will convert the MKV file to Bluray File Structure Format.
Re: Something I would like to do but wondering...
Maybe I would not have to render it as an MKV File if Corel has the capability of burning the project directly to Bluray.

What you don't tell us is what the format of the original video is. You talk a lot about MKV, but are the original concerts in MKV or something else?
I ask because you also seem to want to produce Blu-Ray discs, are the required formats for those are either BD-compatible transport stream mpeg-2 or else AVCHD/H.264 mpeg-4. In other words, MKV does not form part of the Blu-Ray equation.

Any decent video editor will allow you to cut the first part of the recording (i.e. the interviews, etc.). VS Pro is no exception.
The harder part is burning to a Blu-ray after. For VS you will need to purchase an additional pack. I forget the price, but I believe it's around £6-7. You'll need to check. With my VS Ultimate X10.5, it is currently showing £5.88, but this is based on exchange rate right now.
Personally, I'm not impressed with the menus supplied with VS for burning DVDs and less impressed with the options for Blu-rays. It works, but I'm looking for something which they don't offer.
p.s. legally be careful. I know a lot of people tend to do their own thing, but you are working with copyright material.

Set aside the burning, looks as you want just to trim the track.
Try XMedia Recode in copy mode.
There you have option to set the in and out .
once you got your lean file look for a way to burn.
You sure you have to burn BD ? can't your player play it as data file?

If you want Bluray to Bluray with content removed and no loss of quality, MakeMKV might be a good starting point, but VS is not the right tool at all.
I would ask at VideoHelp. It can be done but it will be somewhat complicated.

The original concert is on a Bluray Disk. You can make an exact duplicate of it using MakeMKV. But then I would have to load that file into a video editor and remove the beginning interviews and such and then burn that new file to a Bluray Folder Structure.
I just found out that VideoPad supposedly can do this also and I already have that so I will try that first.
I will look into XMedia Recode too.

XMedia Recode was a no-go. It wouldn't even load the file in from the disk. After I got done using VideoPad to burn my movie I tried that in my player and the disc would not play.
I have found out that most Bluray Authoring Tools out there simply do not work.
I could try Nero.

Nero may work, I use CyberLink Power2Go very good blu-ray authoring, but not exactly cheap
Edit
The trial version of Power2Go 11 is provided without any restrictions or limitations so will burn Blu-Ray, so it will cost you nothing to try it out
