Edit video by frame

Post by joel_l »

Hi,

I have VideoStudio 2018. Is there a way to edit a video frame by frame? What I mean by this for any displayed frame, can I edit the image as if it were in a paint program?

Thanks

Don't think that is possible, you could take a snapshot of individual frames, which will then give you an image that can be edited, have no experience of doing that so unsure of the image quality.
Another method is to convert your video to images using a converter, I use Free Video to JPG Converter, your images will be the same quality as the video

Well you can certainly expand the timeline to show every frame in a video clip. But I am wondering what effect you are after. There are, after all, 25 frames (PAL) or 30 frames (NTSC) in ever SECOND of the video. That is an awful lot of editing if each and every frame is going to be different from the previous one. Or are you thinking of something else?

VS has paint creator that will give you few tools for rotoscoping.

What I want to do should be done using motion tracking. I want to blur portions of my video in several sections. I can get one to work OK, but as soon as I add a second or third tracker and run them, VS crashes and shuts down.

Oddly, this morning I tried again and the motion tracker worked fine. Set up five of them and they all went through without an issue. Go figure.
