One of the things I loved about Picasa was the flexibility of the search function, and the sort by change date function.
One could simply start typing in the search box, and it would find *everything* that contained the search string, be it a file name, a tag, or, critically, a folder name. This made finding photos a snap, even if you didn't exactly remember the folder name.
For example, the search string "balloon" would find the folder "2018 Balloon Festival" without me having to remember if I put the photos in a folder called "Balloon Festival - 2018" or "Festivals - Balloon - 2018". Granted, this example might not be the best, as most everyone has a naming convention. But the larger point is that it would find absolutely everything (including, say, a rogue photo called "Birthday Balloon" in a totally different folder) instantaneously.
This would be a KILLER Aftershot feature.
Also, Picasa allowed the user to order the library not just alphabetically; but by the date of the last change. So, if you'd recently copied some photos over from an SD card, and didn't exactly remember where you'd put them, you could simply order by the date of the last change to the folder and voila! Your folder is at the top.
