Erasing Multi color backgeound

Hello,
I come across a clipart I need to strip the background off as displayed.

However, I have a difficult time using the background remover because it contain different grey levels in the background. Using the eraser itself will cut into the curve of the object and have to spend time to do it little by little. Is there any trick or tip I can do this more efficiently ?
