X9 Ultimate dropper tool and airbrush

Must have changed a rule without realising, because when I select dropper tool and then airbrush, the colour/hue I selected is totally different when I apply the airbrush onto the image.
Can someone kindly explain what I´ve done wrong, please?

It is a bug.
You need to reset the tool :

Double check to make sure you didn't change the blend mode. It should be set to Normal.

If that's not the issue you could try resetting the workspace. Just be sure to save your workspace if you've made any customizations.

Can you share a screenshot of your tool options palette so we can see your options?

Also, can you share a screenshot of your color palette.

Tried this and it does not work either.

Insteed of Airbrush, could you test with PaintBrush (and reset the PaintBrush too) ?

EDIT : This is a random bug in PSP 2018 and resetting the tool corrects the defect. But you are on PSP X9 and there is no such bug in PSP X9. Are you sure you don't have some Texture or Pattern active ?

I did some research and found that under "Materials," Foreground and Stroke was in shades of grey. So I changed that to Colour and this has done the trick, together with ensuring that under Tool Options Blend Mode was "Normal",which it was.
Problem solved with many thanks.
