cut out or see thru lettering

Post by Larry5000 »

In Photo Impact 13 in particular what is the easiest way to make text over a background and then have the inside of the letters be see thru. I want the background to come through the lettering which I suppose the lettering would have a very thin outline to still retain the fact that the text is there. I know you can make the text transparent easy enough but taking the text way down to all most where it fades out to allow more background to come through really does not let the lettering stand out at least with what little bit of outline you can see.

I guess you can make a heavy outline border around the letting, but when you fade the lettering the whole thing fade, not just the inside of the lettering. Any help on how to achieve this would be very helpful, thank you.

Hi Larry

and welcome to the forums

It has been a while since I ran Photo Impact so a little rusty.
I am sure there should be other ways to create text transparency but selecting 3D pipe with a width of 1 or 2 seems to work.

Is that all there is to it? Seems like there should be more to it then that. I will try it when I get back home but that seems to simple. I never cared for the pipeline look to much but will try and see what happens.
