Audio Skips After Rendering....

Post by TripSmith »

I've been a Corel user for years now editing all my Youtube videos with the program. I just purchased a new computer (windows 10) for video editing and installed my X9 to the new computer (mid level gaming computer that is much better than my old computer).

I filmed a short video (one video clip) on my Canon D5200 (like I always have done), transferred files to computer and imported the .MOV file into my newly installed X9. Edited the video and things were looking good and smooth while playing the Project in the Edit tab. I rendered the video to (MPEG 4 AVC, 1920x1080, 30p, 15Mbps) just like I have always done in the past with the same program and same computer.

The video is skipping/doubling up the audio for a split second at places in the video where I trimmed the clip. When I play the trimmed clip in Project under the Edit tab it sounds perfect. But after rendering and playing the new MP4 file on my computer I get the skipping.

I've been reading various threads about similar issues saying the file needs to be converted to AVI or something before editing in X9 but this doesn't seem like the answer since I have been doing the same process for years on the same program with the same camera....

I'm thinking there may be some setting I had to change years ago to get it working on my first computer and I have forgotten the trick maybe? I'm at a loss.....

Welcome to the forum.

Have you fully updated your X9 after installing it on the new computer? From memory, there are something like 5 service packs for that version...

Thanks Ken!

I have checked for updates within the program. Help/Check for Updates... and it says There are no updates available at this time.

I did re-download off of the Corel website so I'm thinking the updates were within the new download?

Thank you for the great info on the Quicktime CODEC I have installed only the CODEC as described in the video. I re-rendered the video file and it's working correctly now! Wow, what a simple fix, thank you both gentlemen for your input.

(I was having another issue with GoPro files within Corel X9 on my old computer which is why I bought a new one. Hopefully being a more powerful computer will remedy the problem and I won't have to come back and bug you wise men again.

Thank You Immensely
