Animated GIF: How to enable transparency

Post by pjl3dm »

Hey,

I need to know how to import a gif with 100% transparency, the problem is whenever I drag my animated gif in the ulead video studio timeline, I can see my gif animation but the transparent areas are all in white.

Is there a way to successfuly import the animated gif without those white areas?

not sure but have you tried the gif in the 'overlay track'

Then use the 'chrome effect'

A while back I was attempting to create( still) objects that would overlay my video and the only thing that would give me transparency was saving as a tiff file and checking "save as transparency".I was working in Photoshop. The suggestion to save in tiff camefrom someone on this forum. Haven't tried it with an animation since I'm using Cool Edit for my animations now and that imports directly into VS9.

If you are using Photoshop try importing a *.psd file.
