Edit mode not working

Edit mode not working
My PSP X8 selection tool is not working. That is, when I click on the rectangle (as example) it shows the rectangle outline, but when I let off of the mouse, it disappears. Any suggestions?

In the Tool Options palette for the selection tool check the Mode setting. It sounds as if you have it set to Remove.
