Is it possible that one can insert a video from youtube in order to edit it

There are applications that capture a Youtube video while it plays and saves it to the pc's hard drive. Then it simply is a local video file. You need to watch for copyright violations to avoid getting into trouble. Best is to ask the creator of the Youtube video to share a copy with you.
