VS 2018 Will not load

Just downloaded and installed a paid for version of VS Ultimate 2018. When I try to open the software, I receive a message telling me that I am not a registered user and gives me an error code of 1011.

Probably something I didn't do?

Yes there must have been something failing during your install. Do you recall entering the license string during installation?

I can only think that you are going to need to uninstall, run the cleanup program (see sticky post), and re-install.

Thanks, Yes, I did enter the license number (cut and paste). However if this was wrong or not entered, surely the install would have failed at this time ??

There were no untoward messages during the install.

This is what Corel said:

Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support. My name is Venkat and I have been assigned to your ticket.

I am sorry for the inconvenience you're facing. Let me see what the best that I can assist you on this.

Kindly close the application, go to corel.com, click on " your account" link that you see on the top right corner, provide your email and password and click " sign-in". Kindly register your product and start the application and see if this works for you.


That, of course did not work. The message from this input stated:

There is a problem with your registration request. The serial number may not be properly entered or may already be registered against your account. Please review your request again.

I had been thinking of suggesting the same thing that Corel did. But as you said, that did not work. However, in your Registered Products in your account at Corel.com, is VS 2018 listed? I assume not, but it might be useful if you could confirm this.

Hello,

No it is not listed.

I tried to register the product and entered the license number (cut & paste) but the message given was that the number was not recognised.

My guess is wrong serial number. Corel support is only one that can help you get this fixed.

I don't think that can be the case. Surely the software would not install if I entered the wrong serial number. in any case I used copy & paste from the download message.

Perhaps it is something to do with the Corel Registration site partially not working at the moment. When I try to look at my Registered products or order history, I note the following message:

Please note we are currently migrating our systems to a new platform.

I think my last post was correct.

VS 2018 now works o/k, without doing anything different. I also note that it is shown as a registered product when I login to my account. I think that the registration just took a day or so materialise.

In any case, problem solved.
