Hi All,
First of all I'm 2 days into my VS2018 Ultimate experience, so apologies if I'm asking something 'dumb' but I'm really stuck.
In short
I have a video of a sketch I took on my ipad - this is text and shapes and about 40 seconds long
I also have a video of myself narrating the same topic about 5 mins long
I have used the split screen template to load both videos and both embed and work fine if I don't do anything....
since the videos are different length, to 'pause' the shorter video I split and take snapshot and put this in the timeline as recommended on the corel website (a pause button would have been nice - this seems pretty clunky)
Issue 1
When I paste the snapshot on the timeline it ignores my split screen template and the image goes on top of the section I am narrating -
Issue 2
I want to change the split screen template mid video as I draw on the left hand side, then on the right hand side.
- I seem to only be able to place the new template after my video tracks even if I split them
- my workaround has been to place the new template at the end, then split and move the sections, but when I place it over the new template overlays it automatically does a transition (which I don't want) and then once transition is over it reverts back to the original template.
Any help, tips, pointers would be super appreciated.
Thanks !!!!

Re: Split Screen, pausing video, and changing template issue
Hello mlasota999,
Sorry for the delay in responding, it sounds like you need to copy the 'attributes' of the working clips to the additional clips.
To do this right-click the good clip and select 'Copy Attributes'. Then right-click a bad clip and select either 'Paste all Attributes' or 'Paste optional Attributes...'. As a minimum, you need to select the filters if you choose the optional attributes.
You'll also need to extend the 'splitlines.png' image to cover the length of the split screen clips.
Using this technique it is possible to run multiple clips within the same template along the timeline.
