Moving clips to another library
I have 2018 Ultimate, and I had moved some clips from Library 1 (for example) to Library 2 by dragging and dropping. They are in library 2 , but are also still in library 1. I then tried right-click, copy and paste to move the clip, then deleted from Library 1. When I go into library 2 the clip is there, but when I go back to library 1 it is also still there! Am I doing something wrong? How do I delete it from library 1?

Re: Moving clips to another library
Hello dumbdumber,
An issue like this was picked up during beta testing and has been reported. A temporary solution/workaround will work, which is outlined below.
If you move a thumbnail from one media library (i.e library 1) to another (library 2), then it has most likely been moved but it isn't showing correctly. What I've found is that if you change to a different media library (library 2 or library 3) and then go back to the original library (library 1), then you should find that the thumbnail is no longer present in the original library.
I also found that I have to do the same thing if I manually change the order of the thumbnails in the media library.
Remember though that these are just thumbnails. If you happen to delete them, the original video is not touched.
I seemed to trigger this when I imported a number of clips into the library. Once present, I couldn't get rid of it.

Re: Moving clips to another library
If you are taking about the sample clips and images supplied with Videostudio then it is quite complicated to get rid of those - they are 'built in' to the programme - but why would you want to move them any rate - just create new libraries for your own clips
The normal way to remove thumbnails of your own clips from a library is to RIGHT click on them and choose 'Delete' from the pop-up - as said they are only thumbnails pointing to the clip - the original will not be deleted
in fact often if just wanting a few moved I find it easier just to use the 'Import' function in the new library to create new thumbnails there - then delete the ones in the original library

Re: Moving clips to another library
Thanks Scubbie, but when I go to another library and then back to the original library the clip is still there.
I want to delete the clips I've already used (they're music clips) , so I only want to see the ones I've not used.
I have logged a ticket with Corel Support.
BrianCee, it's not the sample clips, it's clips in my own libraries. I have rightclicked and it looks like it's gone, but next time I go back into the library it's still there!

Re: Moving clips to another library
No problem @dumbdumber. We all use the software in different ways. Good to see that you've logged a report.
Personally, I like to keep all the thumbnails for a project in place whilst I'm working on it. The green tick indicates which I've used.
Recently I have found it useful to include 'teaser' clips at the beginning of a video and something at the end too. Until I've finished editing together the video I may not always know which ones to use.

Got the same problem, If I want to remove Thumbs that I don'T want anymore, I click on "right" and delete but as soon I get out and return to the same library, its still there impossible to delete
Got a LOT of problem with 2018 version
