VideoStudio X10 and 2018 problems on Windows 10
Using VideoStudio Ultimate X10 and Ultimate 2018 on 2 different Windows 10 Pro machines results in IDENTICAL problems when trying to render DVDs or Blu-rays. First, VS will not load saved projects, crashing at the Add Media screen, that can only be terminated by using the Task Manager. This problem can be avoided ONLY by running either version of VS in Windows 7 compatibility mode. Using Windows 8 compatibility mode doesn't help. Secondly and less importantly, rending a Blu-ray or DVD takes almost 3 times longer than when doing the same tasks in Windows 7. I'm talking about a simple 25 GB Blu-ray render taking 40 minutes on a Windows 7 laptop with an I7 at 2.7 giga-Hz quad-core CPU and 8 GB RAM laptop versus 100 minutes on a I7-8700K 3.7 giga-Hz 6-core CPU with 16 GB RAM and in a gaming motherboard desktop! Both desktop and laptop have SSDs with the desktop having a super-fast 500 GB M.2 main drive. It doesn't matter whether the render is direct to the Blu-ray disc or to an ISO file on the hard drive, on my Windows 10 machines, it still takes about 100 minutes. After taking the above laptop with Windows 7 and putting a fresh install of Windows 10 on it with minimal installation of other programs (no other video programs), I had the same problems on the laptop that I had on the more powerful desktop when using VideoStudio. Since these problems only occur in Windows 10 (possibly, just on W10 Pro?), the likely cause is a Windows Update somewhere (plus using it in Windows 7 compatibility mode probably is the reason for the decreased performance issues). These problems are likely to occur in other versions of VS, not just the last 2 versions. Are other users having the same problems? [Corel Tech Support does have a ticket on this problem but they are looking for a problem in my computer, not their software, plus I haven't heard from them in a while.]

Why are you not posting in the correct forum for VideoStudio? You will not get a good answer here,
Perhaps one of the moderators of this board will move your post

That's good advice. I hadn't noticed the VS forum when I posted this, thought that this would be the place since it is about "video & DVD." I will copy and paste it there.

OK. So I'll lock this thread to prevent possible confusion with answers in both threads.
